摘要:
This paper combines theories of optimum filtering and of optimum control of completely observable systems with random inputs in order to synthesize optimum control when the state is not completely observable. It is assumed that all measurements of state are contaminated by coloured noise. The final optimization is presented in continuous-timo and a simple example is given to illustrate the method.

摘要:
It is shown that difficulties ariso in the direct application of Pontryagin's Maximum Principle when the plant itself has discontinuous characteristics. A technique using delta functions is suggested to overcome these difficulties mid the optimum controller is synthesized for a plant having such a non-linearity.

摘要:
A study of feed back control systems with time-shared analogue elements is described. Continuous, ideal impulse commutated and finite pulse commutated systems have been compared for specific examples.

摘要:
This work is concerned with the processing of line patterns in general, and of hand-written numbers in particular. A mathematical model of the space of hand-written numerals constrained to be a bounded portion of a plane is developed first. Each numeral is transformed into a real function of a real variable by means of a procedure involving horizontal and vertical scanning of the pattern. The functions thus obtained are defined in an interval normalized to [0, 1], are uniformly bounded, piecewise continuous and non-negative. They form a sub-set of the Hilbert spaceL2[0, 1 ].

摘要:
The paper is an extension of a previous one (Snncho 1965), and presents the analysis of optimizing andnth order system which has a random variation of gain of the plant of Gaussian white noise, and whose input is Gaussian and Markov. The method of dynamic programming is used to formulate the problem.
