摘要:
Linear time-invariant systems are considered as aggregates of subsystems, which again may be composed of subsystems at a lower level, and so on. No special structure is supposed for the system, apart from that imposed by the method of interconnection. Some basic results are established, and applications made to analogue computers and to electrical networks. In particular it is shown that when a proper n-port impedance matrix can be realized (without ideal transformers) only by using more reactive elements than the McMillan degree would suggest, still the realization may have least order.

摘要:
In this paper, a transformation which connects the matrices of the Hermite and Sehur—Cohn criteria– for root distribution is obtained. Based on this transformation, the relationship between the reduced Hermite and reduced Schur–Cohn criteria is also obtained. Furthermore, the transformation which connects the Lienard—Chipart stability criterion and the simplified determinantal stability criterion for the unit circle is derived. Finally, the connection between the inner form of the Hermite and Schur7ndash;Cohn criteria is established.

摘要:
A method for determining the optimum control for distributed parameter systems is presented. The method is based upon mathematical programming and is restricted to systems which can be represented by discrete time models having coefficients which are functions of the spatial variables. The control function is assumed to be spatially concentrated. A closed form Bolutton is given which is valid when no constraints exist. An illustrative example is provided.

摘要:
An equivalence relation, rim–similarity, is defined on the set of all sequences of square matrices of a given fixed dimension. For linear discrete – time systems, theorems are presented which show that certain stability properties are invariant under n∞ similarity. General linear systems as well as those of variational type are considered. Also, sufficient conditions are given which guarantee that the uniform stability of the null solution of a non– linear system carries over to the linear variational equation with respect to this solution. All of these results are analogous to known ones for ordinary differential equations.

The elliptic ball criterion is proved for the discrete-time non-linear feedback control equation p(6) x+ BM(t)q(B)x = 0, in which θxlpar;t) = x( t + 1). It is a geometrical condition for stability and instability which reduces to the well-known circle criterion in. the special case when the matrix M(t) is a scalar. For a certain class of equations the elliptic ball criterion is shown to be both necessary and sufficient for the existence of a special kind of quadratic Lyapunov function. The analogy with differential equations is found to fail in one respect
