摘要:
For a plant consisting of pure integrators it is shown that, in the region of state space where all state coordinates have a given sign, the time-optimal control has the opposite sign. This result is generalized to regions where the state coordinates are all non. positive or all non-negative.

摘要:
Recently. Rosenbrock (1974) has defined the order, degree and complexity of a linear time-invariant dynamical system S. These numbers play an important role in the hierarchical structure of a system as discussed by Rosenbrock and Pugh (1974). The present paper gives a complete description of the interrelation between such numerical invariants associated with a system S and its subsystems Si. Some new results in the hierarchical theory of systems are then obtained.

摘要:
A simple test for the existence of an output feedback matrix K to achieve pole assignment in a multivariable system is described and a formula is given to calculate K when it exists. The method is illustrated by a numerical example and its equivalence with a previous method is also shown.

摘要:
A generalized matrix Mouth algorithm is established to expand n matrix transfer function into the matrix continued fraction of three matrix Cauer forms. By the use of the generalized matrix Routh algorithm and state-space techniques. a method is established for performing the matrix continued fraction inversion. The procedure is amenable to digital computation.

摘要:
A computationally efficient algorithm is presented for irreducible realization of a given rational transfer function matrix. It is shown that either the Hankel matrix for the system or a reduced form of it can be systematically transformed to the Hermite normal form using outer products. The dynamical equations then follow immediately. This algorithm requires less computation than the existing algorithms.

摘要:
This paper addresses the problem of controlling linear, time-invariant deterministic systems subject to plant parameter uncertainties and fewer measurable outputs than states. A dynamic controller is developed, whose structure is specifically that of a Luenberger state observer (Newmann 1970, Goldstein 1972). A minimax control formulation is postulated, such that system disturbances resulting from parameter misalignments are modelled as extremum disturbances. The optimization procedure results in a set of non-linear algebraic matrix equations which, when solved recursively, determine a sub-optimum set of feedback gains and state observer parameters. Application of the design algorithm to a single-output, second-order system demonstrates that convergence to a unique minimum results.

摘要:
The application of invariant imbedding techniques to the solution of optimal control problems has several advantages, such as reduction of the two-point-boundary-value problem to an initial value problem and numerical stability. In this paper an additional application of these techniques to the design of optimal feedback controllers is presented. A scheme for efficient storage of the required data is outlined. A simple example is given to illustrate the approach.

摘要:
Some previous results concerning eigenvalue assignment using constant output feedback arc extended. Necessary and sufficient conditions for an output feedback solution to exist lire shown to be equivalent to conditions imposed by the controllability and observability indices of the given system. An example is provided to illustrate the procedures described.

摘要:
The problem of transferring all members of a bounded initial set to a desired target set in fixed time is addressed. It is found that for (A, B) controllable, such a transfer is always possible via constant state variable feedback. Expansion of state in matrix Lagrange polynomials enables one to develop a synthesis algorithm to obtain the appropriate feedback. The feedback synthesis procedure is exemplified for a 3-dimenaional unstable plant where the problem of stabilizability in prespecified time is considered as a special case of the above.
