摘要:
Model reduction for reducing a high-order transfer function to one of low order is based on minimizing the deviations in frequency response throughout the frequency range of interest. Several examples are used to illustrate the procedure and to test the viability of such an approach to model reduction.

摘要:
There is given a set ofnordered pairs of time functions (ri(t),xi;(t)). A networkNis to be designed, whose output isxi(t− τ) in response to inputri(t− τ). A solution is presented consisting ofnparallel branches, each with its own unique sampling function followed by a linear, time invariant network. The inputsri(i) must, however, be linearly independent. If so,Nis linear with respect to linear combinations of thenri(t). A general formula is found for the sensitivity of each response function to variations in the input signal. A slight modification gives a more general network, applicable to inputsrinot linearly independent. It is shown how to designNfor stochastic, stationary inputs so that it presentsndesired statistical weighting functions to theninputs.

摘要:
This paper discusses the problem of polo placement by output, feedback with constraints on the feedback gains, by considering the minimization of a matrix functional whose value reflects the magnitude of the elements of the feedback matrix. The investigation is concerned with the class of dyadic feedback controllers and provides the natural generalization and extension of results described in an earlier paper which discussed polo placement by state feedback. The simple geometric picture which emerges gives insight into the mechanism by which pole placement is effected.

摘要:
For a linear plant with distinct real eigenvalues and a scalar saturating control, and with state coordinates chosen so that the plant matrix is diagonal, a formula is found for the time-optimal control at points on the state axes. This result is required in a proof of the time-optimality of a predictive control strategy for higher-order systems. The result also finds application in a certain sub-optimal control technique, which is discussed briefly.

摘要:
In this paper we consider a system as a relation between input, internal variables and output. This relation is given by the solution space of the system's equations. For time invariant linear systems in differential operator representation the solution space carries aK[s]-module structure defined by the ordinary differential operator. This algebraic structure is exploited systematically to develop a self-contained theory of strict system equivalence in time domain.

摘要:
An alternative realization for single-input, single-output stationary systems is presented which displays several advantages compared with the classical canonical realization of transfer functions. The flowgraph representation of the proposed realization brings out a basic structure which involves the series connection of first-order, strictly proper subsystems that, at least partially, can resemble the physical structure of many real systems. Furthermore it is demonstrated that it is suitable for the solution of zero and pole assignment problems.

摘要:
Using the theory of analytic functions the stability of linear multivariable systems defined by a set of delayed differential equations is considered. It is shown that such systems may be described by transfer function matrices which determine their stability. The theory of coprime factorization of transfer functions is used to extend some of the concepts of algebraic system theory to the delayed case. These results are then used to develop a Nyquist type criterion for the analysis of feedback stability under proportional and dynamic feedback. The theoretical development is illustrated by an example of a two state system with three unstable poles.

摘要:
The infinite zero structure of completely controllable and observable linear multi-variable systems which give rise to square, non-singular, strictly proper transfer function matrices is investigated via the polynomial matrix approach to the solution of the decoupling problem. In the process various connections between infinite zeros, their degrees and geometric and polynomial matrix ideas are demonstrated. The asymptotic behaviour of closed loop eigenvectors under high gain output feedback is also examined.

摘要:
Let[Ctilde](s)[Dtilde](s)−1be a right coprime matrix fraction description of the (r × m) strictly proper transfer function matrixT(s) of a linear multivariable system Σ = (A, B, C). In this paper we establish a direct relation between (i) the algebraic concept of a right divisorCR(s) of the ‘numerator’ matrix[Ctilde](s), i.e. a (not necessarily square) polynomial matrixCL(s) that satisfies:[Ctilde](s) =CL(s)CR(s) for some polynomial matrixCL(s), and (ii) the geometric concept of an (A, B)-invariant subspace which is contained in the kernel ofC. A special class of right divisorsCR(s) ofC(s) which correspond to (A, B)-invariant subspaces in kerCis characterized by a number of properties and a simple formula is presented which expresses the above correspondence. By generalizing the concept of a greatest right divisor (GRD) of a polynomial matrix to include also possibly non-square polynomial matrices, it is shown that GRDs of the numerator matrixC(s) correspond to the maximal (A, B)-invariant subspace in kerC.

摘要:
The paper studies the robustness of the servomechanism in the transfer function matrix set-up. First the minimum-order internal model is considered, then the redundant one, with some or all of the plant's parameters arbitrarily perturbed.
