摘要:
For square matrix-valued functions of a complex variable a method is given for computing the invariant zeros in terms of the parameters of the corresponding state-space model. The analysis presented gives an interesting insight into the geometrical relationships which underly the concept of invariant zeros. An algorithm is derived which should be useful for the direct calculation of zeros from state-space descriptions.

摘要:
A method is derived for computing the invariant zeros of a general non-square matrix-valued function of a complex variable in terms of the parameters of the corresponding state-space system model. Based on this a method is developed for choosing a ‘ squaring down ’ output matrix to give a desired set of zero locations for a system whose states are all accessible. This technique is then extended to deal with the situation when all the states are not accessible.

摘要:
This paper presents a method, for determining simultaneously the invariant zeros and the transmission zeros of a large class of linear, time-invariant, invertible, multi-variable systems. The zeros are defined via the concept of minimal order system inverses. These definitions are then used to develop algorithms for determining the positions of the invariant zeros and the transmission zeros. The definitions and algorithms proposed in this paper do not require the systems to be controllable or observable. The zeros are obtained as the eigenvalues of a matrix derived from the system matrices and of order not larger than that of the system. Hence the method is computationally efficient, especially for high-order systems. Three numerical examples are given to illustrate the method.

摘要:
Conditions guaranteeing stability of the optimal surely locally unbiased decentralized filter are derived and it is shown that the filter preserves the decentralized stabilizability of the system. It is also shown that the performance loss due to decentralization is bounded via the performance loss of a ‘completely localized’ filter.

摘要:
In this paper an iterative procedure for determining a minimum-fuel control of a linear discrete system is suggested. The procedure is based on the simplex method from linear programming and requires a finite number of iterations. Necessary and sufficient conditions for uniqueness of the solution to> the problem investigated are also established.

摘要:
The optimal operation of a floatation cell, which is used to separate two minerals, can be obtained by using the floatation coefficient (influenced by the air-flow) as the control. The optimal solution minimizes a coat functional while satisfying the dynamic equations of the cell. The optimal solution may contain a singular sub-arc. Equations for the candidates of the optimal solution are given. Numerical examples illustrate the presentation.

摘要:
In order to estimate the state of an asymptotic time-invariant linear system with special statistical properties, an easily calculated stochastic approximation algorithm is developed. For a certain class of linear estimators this algorithm characteristically produces the least mean square estimation error, a property which is not lost if time-variant systems with non-vanishing plant noise are considered.

摘要:
This paper considers the control of a continuous linear plant disturbed by white plant noise when the control is constrained to be a piecewise constant function of time: i.e. a stochastic sampled-data system. The cost function is the integral of quadratic error terms in the state and control, thus penalizing errors at every instant of time while the plant noise disturbs the system continuously. The problem is solved by reducing the constrained continuous problem to an unconstrained discrete one. It is shown that the separation principle for estimation and control still holds for this problem when the plant disturbance and measurement noise are Gaussian.

摘要:
Davison's design for the servomechanism is treated anew using the method of the state-space in the frequency domain, mainly developed by Rosenbrock. It is shown that the compensator is not robust with respect to all its parameters. However, if the perturbation of the sensitive parameters is ‘ small’, the error is also ‘ small ’ if the signal to be tracked and the disturbances are bounded. In order to make the reasoning more systematic, the notion of ‘ blocking zero ’ is introduced.

摘要:
This paper considers the problem of designing optimal dynamical observer-based controllers for discrete-time linear time-invariant systems with inaccessible state. It is assumed that the initial state is an unknown random vector with known mean and covariance. The performance index is taken to be the expectation, with respect to the initial state, of the standard quadratic one for the discrete-time regulator.
