摘要:
The linear optimal estimation problem of linear discrete time invariant processes is considered. Using a mixed z- and time-domain approach explicit expressions am obtained, in the case where the measurement record is infinitely long, for the constant Kalman gain and the minimum error covariance matrix of the filtered estimate in terms of the zero structure of the measurement power spectrum density matrix. These expressions are simple to obtain both conceptually and computationally and they provide a geometric insight to the structure of the solution. They are also applied to the filtering problems with finite number of measurements and to the optimal discrete smoothing problems where similar explicit results are obtained.

摘要:
This paper considers the stability of a model reference adaptive control system with input amplitude constraints. The conditions given in this paper guarantee the stability of the error between the plant output and the reference sequence. The validity of the theoretical results is demonstrated by numerical examples.

摘要:
This paper is concerned with the input-output stability of non-linear multivariable feedback systems. The class of feedback systems considered consists of a linear time invariant element in the feedforward path and a non-linear element in the feedback path ; although differing feedback configurations may be considered by use of suitable transformations. By expressing the linear time invariant part as the sum of a normal operator and the difference, graphical Nyquist-type conditions are shown to ensure theL2stability of the non-linear multivariable feedback system. The frequency domain criteria present are of the circle type and may be viewed as the multivariable counterparts of the scalar multiplier results of Cho and Narendra (1968), Zames and Falb (1968).

摘要:
Control systems in which the input and feedback signals of a plant are pulse-frequency modulated and the resulting pulses locked by a phase-locked loop are investigated. These systems are assumed to be regulator systems, and the input and feedback signals are converted into sequences of standard pulses using integral pulse frequency modulation (IPFM). These sequences of pulses are then compared in a phase comparator which produces a plant excitation signal that is dependent on the degree to which the feedback pulses track the input pulses.

摘要:
The on-line estimation of unmeasured states in non-linear distributed systems faces considerable computational and implementation difficulties. In the present work an estimator is developed for a distributed system coupled through a highly non-linear term. The available secondary measurements and their time derivatives are used to preestimate the non-linear function. Then, the non-linearity is regarded as a known time dependent forcing term. The resulting estimation problem becomes linear, with a significant reduction of the computational scheme. The application of the method is illustrated with an example taken from the chemical industry; a tubular chemical reactor.

摘要:
Decentralized stabilization of a class of non-linear interconnected systems is considered. Local high gain state feedback stabilizing control laws are derived. It is discussed how large the feedback gains should be in order for the closed-loop system to possess certain stability properties.

摘要:
In the first part of this paper, a continuous time adaptive identification algorithm via newly developed adaptive laws is presented. The principle of the algorithm is very simple, nevertheless the convergence property is quite excellent. In the second half part, two continuous time adaptive control algorithms via adaptive laws, as were used for adaptive identification, are presented. A new canonical form for adaptive control is first developed for this purpose. The design procedure for adaptive control systems requires neither positive realness nor augmented error signals and can be applied irrespective of the relative degree of the plant transfer function.

摘要:
A new geometric method of calculating multivariable system zeros and zero directions is presented by considering a particular choice of state feedback control law. This control law has been motivated by the study of variable structure systems in the sliding mode. The cases of singular and non-singular CB have been treated separately.

摘要:
The purpose of this paper is to provide a self-contained proof of the generalized inverse Nyquist stability criterion which is based on the theory of algebraic functions and Riemann surfaces. It is shown how the fixed modes are related to the polynomial determining the inverse characteristic gains.

摘要:
Although non-linear controllers frequently demonstrate superior performances relative to linear controllers because of the flexibility of the specification of the controller gain, they are inherently more difficult to design. We describe a new straightforward design procedure for non-linear controllers for non-linear systems. Design procedures for controllers are generally formulated as parameters optimization problems in which the controller parameters sought are such that the controlled system exhibits responses near to those given by the design specifications. We present a quick and simple parameter determination strategy for non-linear controllers based on an approximately discretized analogue model. A design example illustrates the validity of the designed controller and the simplicity of the design procedure.
