摘要:
Wolovich generalized the classical resultant matrix to give a test for the relative primeness of two real polynomial matricesT(s),V(s), whereG(s) =V(s)T−1is proper. A new proof is given for this result and it is extended to the case whenG(s) = is non-proper. The result is also shown to have connections with the theory of minimal bases for rational vector spaces derived by Forney.

摘要:
The relevance of minimal bases in infinite frequency considerations is shown to lie more in the aspect of factorizations of rational matrices than in their characterization of the absence of zeros (finite and infinite). Accordingly the paper distinguishes between relatively prime and minimal factorizations and establishes an important structural property of the latter. This property is demonstrated to be extremely useful in a study of the effect of constant output feedback on the infinite poles and zeros of a transfer function matrix.

摘要:
The linear-quadratic optimal control problem with positive controllers is considered. Specifically, necessary and sufficient conditions are given for the existence of a solution to the optimal control problem ; the form of these conditions is explicit for the case where a trajectory-dependent term in the integrand of the pay-off functional is absent. Extensive comments are made on the special case of the classical (control-unconstrained) linear-quadratic optimal control problem. In our derivation, methods of non-linear analysis inRnare employed throughout.

摘要:
Some detailed investigations on the algebraic properties of the time delay operator and operator matrix make it possible to obtain a powerful sufficient condition of decoupling of the most general class of linear time-varying systems with time delays in control and/or state variables. Two numerical examples are shown to demonstrate the applicability and usefulness of the theory developed in this study.

摘要:
A known approach to the analysis of stochastic relay control systems involves replacing the relay by a correlation-transforming device. The accuracy of this technique is investigated in the present paper. Differential equations are obtained for system autocorrelation functions, and are solved either analytically or computationally. It is found that the approach gives less accurate results than Booton's statistical linearization procedure. In Part I a first-order relay control system with a white noise disturbance was considered. In Part II the treatment is applied to a second-order system.

摘要:
In this paper we consider the optimal control problems of linear distributed parameter systems of parabolic type with inequality state constraints. We apply the duality methods and transform the original infinite-dimensional problems to the dual finite-dimensional problems. We solve the following three types of optimal control problem. (1) The determination of input-time functions with minimum energy. (2) The determination of input-distribution functions with minimum norm. (3) The determination of initial states with minimum norm. Several illustrative examples are given with numerical results.

摘要:
The paper puts forward a simple method for the design of PID controllers for pole placement in linear multivariable systems, where the controllers act directly on the available system outputs. For anm-inputloutput system of ordern, the controller can place 3m+ l− 1 poles of the (n+l)th order closed-loop system arbitrarily. The PID controller ensures that in the steady-state the outputs track step commands and reject unmeasurable arbitrary disturbances with constant final values. The design method is illustrated by a numerical example.

摘要:
The paper presents a method for identification of non-linear distributed systems through the use of Walsh functions. A lemma is established which makes generalization of the identification procedure possible for non-linear distributed systems. A numerical example is included to illustrate the use of the method.

摘要:
The sign function of a square matrix can be defined in terms of a contour integral or as the result of an iterated map $. Application of this function enables a matrix to be decomposed into two components whose spectra lie on opposite sides of the imaginary axis. This has application in reduction of linear systems to lower order models and in the solution of the matrix Lyapunov and algebraic Riccati equations.

摘要:
The purpose of this paper is to analyse the problem of ship steering and to discuss qualitatively the problems associated with variations of the process dynamics and the disturbances. The paper is based on simple models which can be dealt with analytically. It serves as a complement to computer studies using more elaborate models. Models for ship steering dynamics and for disturbances due to wind and waves are reviewed. Criteria for ship steering and autopilot design are discussed. The performance of fixed gain autopilots under different operating conditions is analysed. It is shown that there is a good incentive for using adaptive autopilots.
