摘要:
The assignment of data among several processing nodes for distributed processing is discussed. The performance metric of interest is the mean system response time including both the node delay and communication delay. A queueing optimization model is formulated as a non-linear programming problem with linear constraints. We employ the Newton method and propose an iterative solution procedure which gives the optimal policy. In addition, we illustrate a distributed information system with a numerical example to demonstrate the suitability of our methodology.

摘要:
A method of model reduction using the universal maximum entropy algorithm in conjunction with Norton's theorem for queueing networks is proposed for the analysis of large G-type distributed closed queueing networks. This method is called Norton-Maximum Entropy (N-ME) and has an advantage over the direct application of universal maximum entropy whereby the parametric study of a subset of queueing centres of interest can be done repeatedly without solving the entire network. The complexity of the original system is reduced into a flow equivalent two-stage load dependent queue. The marginal probability density function and various performance parameters of the two-stage load dependent queue can be obtained by using the maximum entropy analysis of the GE(n)/GE(n)/I/Nqueue.

摘要:
A new design methodology that yields robust controllers for globally or locally linearized model is introduced. The linear models are used together with eigen-structure assignment to select suitable dynamics for the system. The selected eigen-structure is assigned to a linear regulator with prescribed relative stability. The satisfaction of state inequality constraints is checked using a published method due to Kiendl. After the designs are completed, their robustness is assessed using a new measure of robustness. The process is repeated until satisfactory robustness, relative stability, etc. are achieved. The design methodology is illustrated using a 2-DOF robotic manipulator example. The example shows that the final design selected must be a compromise between robustness, relative stability, gain magnitude and other considerations.

摘要:
The Routh frequency-domain reduction (approximation) method, coupled with powerful dominant pole-selection criteria, is introduced for the purpose of application to high-degree transfer functions of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) linear time-invariant systems to obtain corresponding adequate reduced-order models. The proposed method has been applied successfully to a 10th-order matrix transfer function of a two-input two-output time-invariant linear model of a practical power system.

摘要:
A computationally simple algorithm for determining the transfer function of multidimensional singular systems, described by a state-space model based on the Givone-Roesser state space setting, is proposed. The method uses the discrete Fourier transform and can be readily implemented on a digital computer. An example is given to illustrate the simplicity and the efficiency of the algorithm.
