摘要:
Modelling the effect of demand variations on a production system manufacturing multiple products is discussed. The various system costs involved in the production system, namely set-up cost and inventory cost incurred due to change in demands for the products with respect to products and planning periods are estimated. A statistical modelling is presented for determining the production capacity and inventory level requirement to satisfy the customer to a certain level decided by the management. Two important factors, (i) number of types of products and (ii) multiple planning horizons are considered to identify the costs as well as the production capacity and inventory level requirements. A statistical method, analysis of variance (ANOVA) is used to study the variations in the demands and costs involved. Finally, an example is presented to explain the application and the behaviour of the statistical model.

摘要:
Fuzzy set formulation of the phenomenological equations of chemical kinetics is presented and demonstrated for some important types of chemical reactions. The algorithms obtained are used in a number of examples for calculating the fuzzy time trajectories.

摘要:
Human blood glucose metabolism is viewed by biomedical engineers as a slow nonlinear system whose structure and parameters are not known exactly. A significant time delay is usually involved in the measurement process of glucose concentration. This paper introduces the real-time digital control of such a process. A three term microcontroller is employed in real-time processing of the glucoregulatory system. The coefficients of this controller are optimized using a recently developed criterion to place the closed-loop poles at desired locations. The simulation results show that the input waveform is relatively steady during the control process, and the microcontroller employed is practicable as well as providing satisfactory in vivo blood glucose regulation.

摘要:
The recently introduced real-time simulation algorithm, the matrix stability region placement (MSRP) method, is generalized. The regression coefficients of the integrator under investigation are generalized with the aid of the Stirling numbers of the first kind. A heuristic argument is given for the equivalence of this method with a special class ofnth order hold techniques which are formulated by means of the Gregory-Newton interpolation function. The MSRP method is used for simulating a small perturbation model of the NASA Lewis 40-60 mixed compression inlet. It is shown that the MSRP can provide speed up time of about 40 compared to the second-order Adams-Bashforth method.

摘要:
In this paper we consider linear and nonlinear dynamic systems which are stabilizable via output feedback. In general, e.g. when the output feedback control law is carried out by zero insertion, such feedback is not physically realizable. It is shown that the insertion of some high frequency poles, which play the role of reduced order observer for the estimation of the output time derivatives, guarantees: (i) the physical realizability of the control law, and (ii) the fulfilment of the required stability properties.
