摘要:
The operational matrix of piecewise linear polynomial functions is derived. Then the problems of analysis and parameter identification are studied on this piecewise linear polynomial basis. The algorithms proposed are analogous to those derived for the orthogonal functions. The piecewise polynomial basis has certain advantages and convenience over other orthogonal functions. Illustrative examples are given for demonstration. The satisfactory results are obtained owing to the rapid convergence property of the piecewise linear polynomial functions.

摘要:
Application of the piecewise linear polynomial functions expansion is extended to linear time-varying systems. With the treatment of the product of two time functions, two types of operational matrix are developed. By applying these operational matrices, the dynamic equations are transformed into a set of algebraic equations. A recursive algorithm is derived and the system equations can be solved with very low dimensional matrix inversions. This represents a considerable saving of computer memory capacity and computing time.

摘要:
A new pseudoinverse called the instrumental variable (IV) inverse is introduced. The inverse and the least-squares (LS) inverse are two special examples of the instrumental variable inverse. This paper presents order-recursive methods for the instrumental variable inverse and IV estimates of the AR and MA parameters of an ARM A process. In simple cases, this paper's methods provide directly the order-recursive algorithms for the least-squares inverse and LS estimates of parameters. Since the matrix form of parameter estimates for any basic or optimal IV method is the same, the order-recursive algorithm for the IV estimates is available for the offline forms of any basic or optimal IV methods. As regards programming the recursive method for IV estimates, such a subroutine is available for several purposes, for example, it can be used in the LS, generalized least-squares (GLS), IV and optimal IV estimations.

摘要:
We consider a computer communication network in which users communicate with each other via a central node. The available channel is divided into the up- and downlink subchannels. Users contend for the uplink according to the pure ALOHA protocol. The central node is capable of recognizing erroneous packets, rejecting duplicate packets, and storing error-free packets. Given that the total available channel capacity is the limiting resource, the system throughput and the average packet delay are derived. Aiming at the improvement of system performance, we found the channel capacity divisions that maximize the throughput and minimize the average packet delay (numerically). In order to obtain the above-mentioned performance characteristics, we have assumed the infinite users' population model.

摘要:
This paper is devoted to the development of a new decentralized control approach for large-scale interconnected dynamical systems. The proposed decentralized control structure is based on the concept of overlapping decomposition. The controller gains for the overlapped subsystems are calculated only once and they are easy to compute since all operations are carried out at the subsystems level. Since the proposed decentralized controller operates under a completely decentralized information pattern, the inaccessible states for each augmented subsystem are estimated using a set of overlapped decentralized estimators. A sufficient condition is developed for the stability of the global system with the decentralized control scheme subject to structural perturbations. It is shown that with the satisfaction of this condition, the proposed controller provides a robust design which is insensitive to structural perturbations.

摘要:
A simple and direct deadbeat control design algorithm for discrete-time multivariable systems is introduced. Our brief was to synthesize a realizable controller to achieve the following objectives: (1) input-output decoupling, (2) deadbeat tracking of any prespecified class of changeable deterministic reference signals and (3) changeable deterministic disturbances rejection where the changeable reference signals and disturbances can be different at each channel. Since the internal stability requirement is satisfied, our design algorithm can easily handle both unstable and non-minimum phase systems. Some constraints on the transfer function are also derived to make sure that the derived controller is realizable. Since all solutions can be described in parametric form, some of the performance criteria can be combined.
