摘要:
Based on an extended model reference control (MRC) theory developed here, a model reference adaptive control (MRAC) algorithm is proposed for not necessarily minimum phase digital or sampled plants. It is shown that the algorithm is capable of globally stabilizing the plants as well as achieving asymptotical model matching in a suitable sense without making a richness assumption on the reference signal. The only assumptions made on the plant are minimality and known order, and hence the delay in the plant is unknown, and moreever may be larger than the delay in the reference model.

摘要:
In this paper general robustness measure bounds are introduced for any multivariable, continuous, time-invariant, linear systems. Bounds are obtained for allowable non-linear time-varying perturbations such that the resulting system remains stable. Bounds are also derived for linear perturbations. The robustness measures and the related theorems are applied to optimal LQ state feedback, direct output feedback, and to generalized dynamic output feedback designs.

摘要:
Sufficient conditions are developed for root clustering of a polynomial in a transformable region when each of the polynomial coefficients takes an arbitrary but fixed value within a specified closed interval. The conditions are in terms of the Kronecker products or the bialternate products. The sufficient conditions are then applied to different subregions in the complex plane. The work of Barmish (1984) on the invariance of the strict Hurwitz property for interval polynomials with perturbed coefficients is extended to root clustering in a region.

A perturbation measure is found which guarantees that all the poles of a perturbed continuous system will stay inside a circle with radius r and centre at — α, α > r > 0, on the real axis. Bounds are then formulated for different subregions in the complex plane. The bounds are obtained by using the general Lyapunov matrix equation.

摘要:
The crucial problem in non-linear stochastic adaptive systems via the certainly equivalence principle is the estimation of the disturbances, which is essentially a non-linear estimation. The present paper focuses mainly on this aspect of adaptation, and the basic idea is of using the maximum entropy principle together with constraints suitably chosen. In this way one proposes a new technique for solving the Fokker-Plank-Kolmogorov equation and two new techniques for determining the conditional probability density of a random disturbance in a stochastic process. Then an adiabatic elimination is proposed, which applies when the system is slowly varying with respect to the external parameter. Finally, one shows how the dynamic equations of the state moments, combined with a linearization technique, can be utilized to analyse a broad class of non-linear stochastic systems involving random disturbances with small variances.

Systems of differential equations with impulses are divided into several classes depending on the way in which the moments of the impulses are determined. The initial value problem is considered for systems of differential equations for which the impulses are realized at the moments when the integral curve of the problem meets certain hypersurfaces, called impulse hypersurfaces, of the extended phase space. The notations of strong uniform stability of the solutions of systems without impulses and uniform stability with respect to the impulse hypersurfaces of the solutions with impulses are introduced. The main results are given in two theorems. The first contains sufficient conditions under which strong uniform stability of the zero solution of the respective system without impulses implies uniform stability with respect to the impulse hypersurfaces of the zero solutions of the initial system with impulses. In the second theorem, sufficient conditions are given under which uniform Lipschitz stability of the zero solution of the respective system without impulses implies uniform stability with respect to the impulse hypersurfaces of the zero solution of the initial system with impulses.

摘要:
The quality of a product has become an essential component in today's international market-place. In manufacturing systems operating under a ‘no-defects’ quality-control policy, locating the origin of any imperfections must be implemented by placing several inspection stations within the production process. In this paper an aggregate manufacturing-inspection system model which represents a no-defects control policy is presented. The model can be used to qualitatively predict the effect of inspection on product quality under several different system configurations and hence can be used as a design tool as well as a quality-control tool.

Multivariate extensions are presented of results obtained in 1985 on the identification of univariate linear systems with noise and stationary inputs. It is noteworthy that this generalization is not straightforward; in fact the non-commutativity of matrix polynomials plays a role, a complication which was also encountered in deriving informative sample sizes for multivariate ARMA processes. Results are derived for the case of a d-variate linear system with an m-variate ARMA input process. The results are presented as informative sampling schemes, i.e. finite time intervals for input and output processes such that observation of the system during these time periods guarantees global identifiability of the system.
