摘要:
By incorporating the semi-Markov process into a bayesian estimation scheme, an adaptive state estimator is developed. This estimator can prevent the loss of the target tracking when a target makes a sudden radical change in its flight trajectory. A method of compensating for the uncertainty of the tracking performance is also presented. The covariance-matching technique is adopted such that the accuracy of the adaptive state estimator is improved. Several examples are given to illustrate the superior tracking performance, and this adaptive algorithm can easily be implemented on the digital computer with a little modification for different speeds.

Numerical results are provided and are compared against those from a simulation study.

摘要:
Based on hierarchical clustering and dynamic programming, an algorithm for segmenting the piecewise stationary signal is developed. With some merits, ‘dispersion’ is proposed as a feature vector, which will be used both in the clustering method and dynamic programming. A test method is designed to evaluate the sensitivity of the distance measure constructed by the dispersion coefficients. The whole segmentation algorithm which constitutes three main stages is developed. In the first stage, called the feature extraction stage, the input signal is partitioned into several frames and the dispersion coefficients of each frame are evaluated. The second one is the hierarchical clustering stage, which clusters those frames based on the features—dispersion coefficients. The last stage is the dynamic segmentation stage, which finds the optimal change points by dynamic programming. Several simulations and real data were conducted and the results showed the satisfactory performance of this algorithm.

摘要:
Based on the second method of Lyapunov, a globally stable discrete model reference adaptive controller design method with unknown deterministic disturbances is derived. The basic idea is to parameterize the disturbances by a ramp function using two parameters. It includes the SISO and MIMO cases. A state variable filter (SVF) is added to ensure that the proposed method is applicable to a plant with moderate measurement noise. The performance of these designs is illustrated by simulation.

摘要:
A set-theoretic approach to uncertain dynamical systems by using convex polytopes is treated. In some points, this approach is superior to the one using ellipsoids, though it also has some disadvantages. First, some fundamental operations are discussed, such as addition, intersection, and the linear transformation of convex polytopes. The results are applied to the analysis of reachable sets for discrete-time linear dynamical systems and also to the state estimation.

Some layer structures of multi-level systems are studied. The concepts of the n-level similarity of systems, the n-level similarity of linked time systems, and ihe hereditary parts of linked time systems are introduced. Some equivalent conditions for then-level similarity of systems and for then-level similarity of linked time systems are also given. Some unsolved questions are posed. A philosophic (or epislemological) axiom is put forward: the existence of any real matter is known by the existences of all particles of some level of the matter, and some relations between the particles. In the final section, several elementary applications of the results are given.

摘要:
A mathematical model emphasizing the development of spatial heterogeneity and the autonomous behaviour of constituent species is described. This model, which is called the Spatial Lattice Habitat Preference Model (SLHP model), addresses the relationship between microscopic interactions among individuals within patches and macroscopic spatial patterns produced. Numerical calculations are used to show the various ways that spatial pattern formation occurs when environmental differences exist. Without environmental differences, populations become homogeneous in space and the macroscopic SLHP model becomes a Volterra system, as a special case. With environmental heterogeneity, however, population oscillations, when they occur, tend to be of relatively small magnitude. In as much as these behaviours accord with present experimental and field evidence, the SLHP model may be a promising tool for modelling the dynamics of spatially heterogeneous ecological systems.

摘要:
The stability of solutions for non-linear control systems in the entire phase space is investigated. It is shown that for determining the global stability of motion, it is necessary to first obtain a single scalar equation from the specified system, and only then apply the Hurwitz conditions. In the derived scalar equations corresponding to the initial system, both non-linear functions and their derivatives will be present. Therefore, not only do the non-linear functions, but also their derivatives enter in the conditions for ensuring stability of the solutions in the entire phase space. 摘要:
The nature of the learning process of decision-making systems is conceptualized, and the process is formulated and explored in the framework of mathematical general systems theory. Learning is understood as a process by which the decision-making system acquires knowledge about its decision situations to increase the potential of its decision-making ability. First, learning is formulated as a generating process of a sequence of higher-order decision situations, then, after introducing concepts of solutions for the decision situations it is shown that as the order of the decision situations increases their solution sets expand. Furthermore, it is proved that there are certain limitations on the expansions and these are identified. During the generating process of higher-order decision situations, the order of the decision situations increases and they structurally change. In order to explicitly describe the structural changes of the decision situations, a category-theoretic framework is adopted. Then, the limitations of the expansions of the solution sets are expressed as categorical limits.
