摘要:
Empirical applications of goal programming with pre-emption to-date have failed to deal with the effects of changes in parameters after the optimal solution has been obtained. A few studies that attempted to do this employed the existing linear programming packages as the basic tool for the analysis, with numerical weights assigned in place of the pre-emptive priority factors. Here an attempt is made to extend the duality theory of linear programming and to relate it to the analysis c f po8t-optimality, especially regarding changes in the priority structure. To this end, the dual problem is constructed and interpreted. It is shown that a duality-based sensitivity analysis helps a decision maker have a better feel for the soundness of bis priority structure of goals.

The design of optimal input signals for the identification of linear systems with feedback is considered for the case when the loop gain is large. The latter condition permits simplification of the description of the complete system and leads to a practical procedure for the design of the optimal input signal. Results of application to a diffusion furnace are included.

摘要:
Sufficient conditions and an algorithm for deadbeat control of single-input, single-output, linear, time-invariant systems are presented. This algorithm allows us to find a feedback gain matrix k and control input u such that the output y of the closed-loop system is identical with reference input r(t) for t ≥ nT, where T is the given sampling period,' n is the order of the system and r(l) represents a class of functions which can be generated in linear, time-invariant systems. The design algorithm is illustrated by two numerical examples.

A traffic situation in studied in which some counters are placed in the streets to count some combination of traffic flows in various directions. Based on these observations, individual traffic flows are estimated using recent results on filtering with counting observation. Simulation studies are given to demonstrate the workability of the approximate estimation equations obtained from theoretical consideration.

摘要:
The paper presents some results of the application of linear and non-linear vector time series modelling techniques and Kalman filtering algorithm to the problem of fitting dynamic models to the observed load data of an interconnected power system. It is found that the identified model can then be usefully employed for on-line prediction of the future load demand. A case study involving a part of the northern India regional electricity grid is presented in order to illustrate the results.

摘要:
A two-dissimilar-unit cold standby redundant system is analysed under the assumption that a random administrative time is spent in locating the repairman and getting hint to the system location. The failure, repair and administrative delay are assumed to follow arbitrary distributions, and several reliability characteristics of interest to system designers as well as operations managers have been evaluated. Suitable measures for studying the effect of administrative delay have been defined and illustrated numerically. A number of results obtained earlier are derived as particular cases.

摘要:
‘Subjective programming’ means programming based on the subjective judgment of a decision maker. The importance of this kind of programming has been increasing, because the subjective judgment of the decision maker plays an important role us problems under consideration become more complex and have more conflicting objectives. One of the authors† has recentlypublished a new kind of optimization method, called the interactive relaxation method, as well as several theoretical analyses of subjective programming. In this paper, the method is modified so that it may be applicable to more general cases. The modified method is applied to en optimal operation problem in packaging systems in automated warehouses. The efficiency of the method is verified by experiment.
