摘要:
Many industrial batch production processes have highly non-linear and time-varying characteristics. Actual operation conditions only allow us to do batch control sometimes. How to approach modelling and optimal control for such processes is a very significant problem. A region fuzzy control method for batch processes is developed that allows for this problem. How to realize modelling of the control method is described in detail. An implementation scheme for the method is also presented clearly.

摘要:
Whether a selection of a feed timing for an antibiotic fermentation production process is suitable or not will directly influence the performance of the process. A prediction and decision model of feed timings for an industrial acetyl spiramycin fermentation production process is established using the approach of the region fuzzy control for batch processes. The results of industrial tests, carried out with the established model, are satisfactory.

摘要:
An I/O based approach for task scheduling on the central processing unit (CPU) of computer systems is presented. Two queuing network models are analysed and scheduling policies to optimize or improve CPU utilization are derived. Since operating systems can easily keep track of the I/O activities of tasks, the approach presented in this paper can easily be incorporated into system schedulers without much overhead. The effectiveness and ease of implementation of this approach make it particularly appealing to many practical applications and real-time systems.

摘要:
The purpose of this study is to develop an economic growth model with endogenous technological change. The model is especially appropriate for the present Chinese economy in which the role of knowledge in economic growth is becoming more important. We are mainly concerned with long-run economic growth. The system consists of dynamic interactions between (material) capital and knowledge (human capital). The conditions for the existence of a unique equilibrium and stability are investigated. The effects of changes in the political parameters on economic growth are examined.

摘要:
Two stochastic approximation procedures are proposed for finding a point attaining the maximum of a regression function defined and observable only at points on a set of discrete variables. The asymptotic convergence property of the procedures is discussed using the theorem of almost supermartingales. The procedures are applied to the recursive identification of autoregressive time series models. The identification procedure consists of a recursive order estimation stage and a recursive autoregressive parameter updating stage, and gives the true autoregressive model or the best autoregressive approximation model.

A simple technique is introduced to synthesize an optimal controller, not only to minimize the least favourable cost functional J, but also to achieve the following purposes in discrete-time linear-quadratic-gaussian (LQG) optimal systems: (I) input-output decoupling; (2) stability robustness in the presence of non-linear time-varying (NLTV) unmodelled dynamics; (3) complete and arbitrary stable pole-placement; and (4) some zero-assignment, The Wiener-Hopí technique is employed and two weighting matrices Q(z) and R(z) of the quadratic cost functional are specified (by the inverse optimal control method), so that the controller is optimal with respect to the chosen weighting matrices and the design goals are achieved.

摘要:
The use of high-gains in the filtering problem for non-linear stochastic systems is studied. It is shown that a high-gain filter has the same structure as a Luenberger observer. The use of high-gains is studied in the cancellation of non-linearities in order to simplify the filter design for non-linear systems. Singular perturbation techniques are used to show how the error dynamics reaches stable equilibrium in a very fast transient time, ensuring that the slow dynamics of the filter are just those of the non-linear stochastic system.

A one-unit repairable system operating under three types of weathers, normal, abnormal 1 and abnormal 2, is analysed. Weather changes from one type to another at different exponential rates. Failure time distributions of the system from all types of weathers are assumed to be exponential whereas repair time distributions are different and general. In order to account for the effects of weather changes during a repair, along with keeping the model computationally tractable, the repair time distributions are chosen as general Erlang-3 distributions which allow good approximation of a broad class of repair times. The system is analysed as a Markov process to find mean time to system failure (MTSF) and absorption probabilities, as a closed queueing network to obtain steady-state availability and as a M/G/I queueing model to evaluate mean repair time. The results are expressed in computationally tractable form. Some numerical computations have been done which help us to draw some significant conclusions.
