摘要:
The parameter adaptive control problem of linear stochastic distributed-parameter systems is considered and treated by invoking the partitioning/non-linear separation approach. Both continuous-time and discrete-time systems are studied, with volume and/or boundary control and disturbance inputs. The following cases are considered: spatially-continuous and point-wise measurements/control actions, continuous and quantized parameter space, non-gaussian initial state, uncertainty in continuous and point-wise measurements, cost-function with spatial-derivative penalties, systems with pure time delays, composite distributed- and lumped-parameter systems, scanning-type control, and simultaneous adaptive system and measurement control. The uncertain parameters are assumed to be time-and-space independent, but the spatial independence can be alleviated as will be shown elsewhere.

摘要:
The detection of sides and corners is useful and important in the shape perception of visual picture patterns. Similarly, the recognition of symmetry in pictures is helpful in reducing the storage space, in retrieving a missing portion, or in correcting the orientation of its shape. In the present paper, algorithms are found to detect the aides and symmetry of simply closed two-dimensional man-made and machine-generated outlines. A description based on the fuzzy set theoretic approach is also developed for imperfect non-geometric figures and results of the execution of the algorithms are presented.

摘要:
An application of the stochastic automaton to the investment game is considered. It is shown that the use of the stochastic automaton with learning properties is an efficient method for the investment game.

摘要:
Three types of linear allocation rule under uncertainty are analysed. These rules arise in problems of resource allocation by an enterprise of a team, when there is uncertainty in the parameters or estimates. Implications of these rules for optimality and comparative usefulness are discussed in particular.

摘要:
The problem of pole and zero retention in multivariable system reduction is regarded as the generation of a series factorization of the system transfer function matrix. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of the factorization are derived in terms of the decomposition of the state space intoA-invariant and {A, B}-invariant subspaces.

摘要:
An approximative lumped parameter model for infiltration is introduced. The model is a spatial discretization of a basic non-linear partial differential equation of the infiltration. The model aims to describe the input-output relation between the rainfall rate and the infiltration rate. The model can be used as a part of a larger rainfall-runoff model, and it can be interpreted as a simple aggregation model of an infiltrating catchment. A great number of simulation runs were carried out with the model. Many of the conventional results of infiltration can be satisfactorily described by the present simple model, e.g. the commonly used Horton's equation.

摘要:
A convex network problem is a mathematical program where the objective function is convex and the constraint set is a network with flow conservation at each node. Further there are upper and lower bounds associated with each edge. In this paper, we construct the dual of such a program and hence reduce the dimension of the problem from that of the arc set of the underlying network to that of the node set. Further the dual program is unconstrained. Generally this reduction is significant and in one particular case, the dimension is reduced to unity and hence trivially solvable. The mathematical machinery is provided by the duality theory of generalized geometric programming.

摘要:
The concept of absolute tracking (Grujić and Porter 1980) is extended so as to embrace digital Lur'e control systems subjected to multiple unmeasurable disturbances and multiple unmeasurable command inputs. It is shown that the discrete-time tracking characteristics of closed-loop digital control systems incorporating Lur'e plants with multiple non-linearities can be established on the basis of the discrete-time absolute stability characteristics of associated free systems. These general results are illustrated by synthesizing a discrete-time tracking system incorporating a Lur'e plant with two non-linearities.
