摘要:
A fundamental relation that the solutions for the state variables of an uncontrollable system must satisfy is obtained. From this relation it is shown that the rank of the controllability matrix and an algebraic transformation which gives the controllability canonical form can easily be deduced. Under this transformation a set of controllable state variables remains invariant.

We considor a (non-linear) stochastic differential equation with control and study tho attainable set V(t/X0) of all conditional probability measures corresponding to tho solution at time t with initial value x0. Some properties of V(t/X0) are established which are analogous to the case for deterministic differential equations with control.

Let x =f(x, μ, v) be the kinematic equation of a two-person, zero-sum differential game where (μ, v) is of class C(m) on the playing space. It is shown that, whenever f(x, μ, v) is not tangent to the terminal surface ϕ there exists a neighbourhood of ϕ in which every point y can he uniquely represented as γ(τ,y0) where γ is a solution to the kinematic equations, y0is in ϕif, and τ is the time until the path originating at y meets ya. This representation yields two functions W(y ; μ, v), the pay-off at y resulting from (μ, v), and T(y ;μ, v), the terminating time from y. It is shown that these functions are of class C(m); and their gradients satisfy the same adjoint equation but with different initial transversality conditions, even when (μ, v) are not optimal. These results are then extended to a carefully defined class of discontinuous strategies, those containing a ’ transition surface ’ or ’ discontinuity manifold ’. Lastly, those results arc used to give a condition for closed-loop optimality in optimal control problems and for semipermoability in differential games. These results are easily generalizablo to n-player games.

摘要:
This paper presents two heuristic self-organization methods for construction of a non-linear prediction model of river flows. The self-organization algorithms have multi-layered structures of the perceptron type and provide the optimally complex non-linear equation of the input-output relation. The algorithms are applied to the river-flow prediction of Karasu JRiver and Katsura River in Japan. The performance of the prediction models by the self-organization methods is compared with that of the hydrological models. The numerical comparison shows that without any hydrological and geographical knowledge the prediction models presented here aro superior to the elaborate hydrological models.

The ’ theory of moments ‘ originated in the late nineteenth century and is associated with the work of Chebyshev, Markov and Stieltjes. This paper applies some moment theorems developed by Akhiezcr and Krein in the 1930s to a number of time optimal control problems : acceleration control of a mass, control of the harmonic oscillator, boundary control of a vibrating string and a discrete time version of the accelerated mass problem.

摘要:
The primary objective of this study is to examine tho sensitivity properties of a multilinear plant embedded in a feedback structure. As a prelude tho existing linear theory ia summarized and extended. Tho bilinear case is then treatod in detail. Extrapolation to the multilinear ease has been carried out by Porter and DeSantis (1974 a). New results includo the following : (i) the use of causality structure as a component of sensitivity analysis in closed-loop linear and non-linear systems, (ii) the establishment of terminal equivalence conditions for multilinear plants and multilinear compensators, (iii) the development of a sensitivity operator in the multilinear setting including existence conditions, (iv) extensions of linear results to largo parameter perturbations.

摘要:
The problem of designing dynamic output feedback compensators to achieve arbitrary polo assignment in linear multivariable systems is considered. By extending a reeent pole assignment technique using constant output feedback to include dynamic output feedback, a procedure is developed for the design of unit rank dynamic compensators for arbitrary pole placement. The design is carried out entirely in the frequency domain and the key step in the design is the formation of a set of linear equations relating the parameters of the compensator to the desired closed-loop characteristic polynomial. The problem of assigning the poles of the compensator which achieves arbitrary pole placemont is also considered.

The land use planning of now towns essentially requires that all land use activities will bo simultaneously distributed at the initial planning stage and that the final distribution will be feasible and overall optimal. This in turn calls for the construction of a planning paradigm which is eapable of generating such land use plans. Thus, tho purpose of this paper is first to briofly introduce such a multistage planning model and then to make the model operational by quantifying its various parts.
