摘要:
The paper introduces the concept of Kirchhoff interconnection, proper to multi-variable dynamical systems, and characterized by relations which generalize in a certain sense those relations as set down by Kirchhoff's theorems for an electric network with one independent node and an arbitrary number of independent loopa. It also defines the partially reversing system, the conditions of Kirchhoff interconnectability, and some aspects of the output controllability and input observability of Kirchhoff interconnectable and interconnected systems.

摘要:
A thorough algebraic analysis of multiple fault situations in combinational logic networks is developed, using the concept of boolean difference. Boolean difference has been widely used as a mathematical tool to generate test sets for single faults in combinational networks. In this paper the concept has been extended to encompass all possible multiple faults. Compact expressions have been developed for complete test sets of a specifick-fault as well as for all possiblek-faults for any value ofk. Several interesting special situations have been discussed where boolean-difference expressions are reduced to a much simpler form for computation.

摘要:
The paper presents farther results on the problem of identification of a minimal order dynamic model for the behaviour of the active load demand at a number of nodes of an interconnected power system. An earlier paper contains the results of application of the vector time series techniques. In the present paper a stochastic state variable model is identified using the recently proposed algorithm of Tse and Weinert (1976). Real data pertaining to a segment of the northern India power grid have been processed using this algorithm, and short-term load forecasts obtained through the state variable model are compared with those based on the time series model.

摘要:
In this paper nearly time-optimal control policies are derived for a class of linear time-invariant models of production-inventory systems which comprise a cascade of basic production-inventory subsystems with bounded input. The sub-optimal control policies are obtained by constructing the sampled-data model of the production-inventory system where the sampling period is chosen to give the maximum control input for the given shipping rate. The theory is illustrated by the presentation of the results of simulation studies which show the transient behaviour of two production-inventory subsystems in cascade.

摘要:
The parameters of a time-discrete transfer function of a process are estimated using an identical model, non-linear in the parameters. The model parameters are adjusted iteratively through the minimization of a least-squares error criterion function. The input signal for estimation is analysed and found to have a major effect on the shape of the error criterion function in the parameter space.

摘要:
This paper presents an investigation into the nature and significance of fluctuations in technological activity. Various cases of technological change in construction, farm equipment, railroading, ship building and electric power industries are analysed. The results of this study indicate that the cyclinical phenomenon is an integral part of the process of technological change. Further, the origin of business cycles may well be in the cyclicity of technological activity. This has the important implication that the economic stabilization policy must be at least partially based on the considerations of technological innovation.

Sampled-data control of low-order continuous-time dynamic systems with time delays is considered. A class of controllers which will transfer the state of the infinite dimensional delay system to the zero state in finite time is determined. The control algorithms require very little data storage and are easily implemented on any digital computer.
