摘要:
Pulmonary circulatory system is analytically studied in this paper. Tho existing model of the circulation process is modified by introducing an inertance element in the system determining the right ventricular dynamics. The value of the inertance is estimated by applying control theory. The stability, controllability and observability uf the system having this modified rnodol are studied. It is found that this process is always stable, completely controllable and also observable.

摘要:
The non-linear feedforward control theory is employed in the present work for determining the artificial aeration control policies of a thermally and/or organically polluted stream. A dispersion water quality model is used for describing the stream temperature, biochemical oxygen demand, and dissolved oxygen distributions along the stream. The artificial aeration control policy is determined such that the dissolved oxygen concentration can bo maintained at its original steady state level in the presence of thermal and/or organic waste discharges. Both step and pulse thermal and organic waste disturbances are considered. Effects of different amounts of thermal and organic waste discharges and the Peclet number on the artificial aeration rate are investigated.

The artificial aeration control policy for a stream receiving multiple thermal and organic waste discharges are determined in the present work by using the non-linear feedforward control theory. It is assumed that a plug-now Streeter-Phelps model is adequate for describing the physical and biochemical interactions in the stream, The artificial aeration control profiles are determined for different waste outfall systems and. the performance of each system on the basis of total artificial aeration requirement is assessed. The results indicate that the outfall system with thermal discharge prior to organic waste discharge is the best among the outfall systems considered in the present work

A frequency-domain criterion that gurantees asymptotic stability with probability one of a non-linear feedback system with control-dependent noise is derived. The results show that the effect of control-dependent noise in such systems is less damaging than that of state-dependent noise.

摘要:
Despite the fact that the demand and supply characteristics of n competitive market are inherently non-stationary, stability properties of time-varying models of multiple markets have remained largely unexplored. The purpose of this work is to introduce a time-dependent non-linear formulation of the excess demand function, and consider time-varying effects on stability of the competitive equilibrium caused by structural changes in the interactions among individual markets. It will be shown that the classical Hicks conditions are sufficient (and sometimes necessary) for stability of a large class of non-linear non-stationary models of multiple market systems.

摘要:
This paper presents a mathematical model of the global biogeochemical carbon cycle. Through computer simulation of this model, the effect of the projected addition of carbon dioxide into the biosphere resulting from fossil fuel combustion is noted. In particular, the added amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere ia predicted, and the concomitant increase in the atmospheric temperature due to this effect is projected. Validation of the model is discussed and u sensitivity analysis ia peformed to test its robustness.
