摘要:
With the existence condition of a sliding regime and the occurrence of hitting, a new approach for determining the switching gains of an optimal variable structure stabilizer with parameter uncertainties is presented. Based on the bounds of uncertainties, the proposed algorithm is a systematic procedure. Simulation results show that with the proposed stabilizer, the dynamic performance of a synchronous generator system can greatly be improved and the dynamic response is better than the variable structure stabilizer with trial and error switching gains and the proportional-integral stabilizer. Furthermore, if the variations of the parameters are within the indicated range, then with the proposed switching gains, the system can always obtain a good performance.

摘要:
Cell Growth Simulation (CGS) is a software package that simulates the growth of cell cultures, and the effects of different types of agents on the cell populationsin vitro. It is a stochastic simulation system based on the cell cycle kinetics. Experiments involving DNA synthesis blocking, mitosis inhibition, labelling and cell kill can be simulated by imitating agents such as thymidine, aphidicoline, hydroxyurea, vincristine, vinblistine, colcemid and others. The model to be simulated is described by the user according to his theoretical convictions, The system provides numerous facilities to help the user describe an experiment and examine the simulation results. A menu driven interactive scheme is used to communicate with the user. CGS has a modular structure and its general structure, design philosophy and capabilities are presented. The system has been developed through the cooperation of industrial engineering, cell biology, medical oncology and computer programming disciplines. It is implemented on PCs with hard disks and 512K bytes of RAM using the True Basic language.

摘要:
A new linear programming model is formulated for the optimal design of dynamic systems. It is based on the multistage process, in which some outputs of one stage are the inputs to the next stage. This scheme could be used for forecasting and re-planning the dynamic models. The computational properties show that the proposed algorithm is four times faster than the well-known simplex linear programming technique. The developed algorithm is tested on real records, obtained from an economic production system.

摘要:
Decentralized iterative learning control methods are presented for a class of large scale interconnected linear dynamic systems, in which an iterative learning controller in each subsystem operates on its local subsystem exclusively with no exchange of information between subsystems. Sufficient conditions for convergence of the algorithms are given and numerical examples are illustrated to show the validity of the algorithms. In particular, the algorithms are useful for systems having large uncertainty of interconnected terms.

摘要:
The problem of assigning closed-loop eigenvalues and eigenvectors in large-scale systems by using a recursive algorithm is discussed. The algorithm developed generalizes the result of Arbel and Rath (1985). The feedback gain matrix can be obtained by manipulating subsystem matrices and corresponding gain matrices. The eigenvectors can also be determined recursively. An example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the approach.

摘要:
The quantum mechanical entropy of density matrices defined by Von Neumann in quantum physics has been generalized in the form of quantum entropy of non-probabilistic matrices, and it is shown that the latter can be of some use in automatic control. This quantum entropy can be thought of as a measure of structure complexity and its application is quite relevant and meaningful in the following topics: stability of linear and non-linear systems, robustness and order reduction. Quantum entropy appears to be a new weighted combination of eigenvalues which would allow us to re-examine some problems with new points of view relating to information theory without probability.

An observer design methodology that is applicable to a general class of non-linear stochastic system and measurement models is given. It is proved that, under the conditions given, discrete- and continuous-time state estimation is possible with guaranteed exponential rate of convergence. The superior performance of the observer is illustrated with two examples.

摘要:
Recently (Misra 1991), a search algorithm to solve integer programming problems was introduced. It is demonstrated here that it is an efficient and easy to program search procedure for solving a general class of integer programming problems, which are usually encountered in many allocation problems. One such application is system reliability design. The algorithm solves a very wide variety of problems that otherwise cannot be easily solved through any of the existing search methods. Several illustrations are provided to establish the superiority of the approach.
