The optimization of a class of linear deterministic time-invariant multi-dimonsional distributed parameter control systems is presented. Both unconstrained and constrained, optimizations are formulated as two-point boundary value problems. A conjugate gradient method of solution is proposed. The theory is applied to a two-du(iensional heat conduction system by way of an example.

摘要:
A criterion is given which is sufficient for the characteristic roots to remain within the semi-plane Rc (λ)<0. It is not necessary to find the roots of transcendental equation but, the traditional Gorshgorin criterion for each t≥t0, together with another condition are sufficient to determine the stability of tho IJ.G.M. systems. Dopplor effects due to variable time delays in Sandborg's non-linear model is being considered.

摘要:
Linear time invariant multivariable systems whose parameters do not satisfy the necessary and sufficient conditions for complete decoupling aro considered. Systems aro considered whoso parameters are such that the decoupling matrix is singular. It is shown that it is still possible to approximately decouplo the system in the sense that r of the system's m scalar input-output pairs are completely decoupled, while the remaining m — r scalar input-output pairs remain coupled. It is further shown that the degree of decoupling possiblo depends on the rank of the decoupling matrix. A lemma is stated and proved that shows the existence of a decoupling scheme that decouples tho system to the extent that the output, yi, is dependent on at most the input m;(. if i≤r.

A mathematical model of social interaction in the form of two coupler! first-order non-linear differential equations, forms the topic of this study. This non-conservative model io representative of such varied social interaction problems as coexisting sub-populations of two different species, arms race between two rival countries and the like. Differential transformation techniques developed elsewhere in the literature are seen to be effective tools of dynamic analysis of this non-linear non-conservative mode! of social interaction process.

In this paper it ia shown that certain problems of optimal (feedback) control of stochastic systems can be reduced to an optimal control problem of a class of nonstandard distributed parameter systems (with controls appearing in the coefficients). Fixed time problems reduce to optimal control problems of distributed parameter system with Canchy condition and Markov time problems reduce to those with first boundary condition. (Il'In, Kalashnikov and Oleinik 1962, p. 40.)

摘要:
Two digital methods are proposed for the solution of the time-domain approximation problem. Tho first method, based on a reeursivo algorithm for tho matrix pseudo-iriverso, determines the pulse transfer function of a discrete-timo system of a prescribed order providing the best fit in tho least squares sense at tho samplo points. Tho continuous-time system transfer function is then derived by using a simple transformation provided that tho sampling frequence oxeeeds tho Nyquist rate. Tho method is direct and computationally efficient. The second method is based on using an offieiont gradient search algorithm providing the best fit in the leastpti sense at tho samplo points. A number of examples illustrato the methods
