摘要:
A design method is presented which permits a feedback control system with variable plant parameters to satisfy the desired performance specifications. The method utilizes state-variable feedback with constant feedback gains and satisfies the quadratic performance index (P.I.). The design application is an aircraft pitch attitude control system. The control system must be insensitive to parameter variations which occur over a range of flight conditions. The design example allowed large variations in the plant parameters while still maintaining the desired response. The gain in this design is high, but not in the sense of Horowitz's high-gain system design (LaBounty and Houpis 1906). Because of this relatively high gain, the disturbance response of this system is within acceptable limits. In comparison with previous control system designs (LaBounty and Houpis 1966), the design presented in this paper resulted in a simpler system configuration, i.e. reduced system complexity.

摘要:
The optimum filtering problem for a class of distributed-parameter systems described by hyperbolic partial differential equations with coloured observation noise is studied. The stochastic input disturbance is assumed to be white in time and is correlated in space. The measurement process is transformed into a single equation involving white noise only. The optimum filter equations are derived by the applications of both innovations and learning theorems.

For a given asymptotically stable matrixAwhich has all characteristic roots with negative real parts, changes are found in arbitrary submatrices ofAwhich do not affect the distribution of roots with respect to the imaginary axis. The results give only sufficient, conditions but are relatively straightforward to apply. Application to matrices in companion form enables one or all of the coefficients of a polynomial to be altered without affecting its asymptotic stability. Illustrative numerical examples are given.

摘要:
Due to the complexity of non-Gaussian design, most control systems are designed via assumptions of Gaussian disturbances, oven for cases of non-Gaussian disturbances. Similarly, performance evaluations of systems designed via a Gaussian assumption when inputted with non-Gaussian disturbances are most difficult and rarely made. The present paper therefore presents a method for analysing such performances by deriving output probability structures for cases of input disturbances belonging to a class of non-Gaussian Markovian processes that are common to many chemical engineering processes. The analysis is based on considering the Chapman—Kolmogorov and the Fokker-Planck equations related to a two-state Markov process and its results are compared with the ease of Gaussian disturbances to facilitate the determination of the discrepancy between the performance expected by the Gaussian assumption and the actual performance.

摘要:
An integrated computer programme in Fortran IV for continuous or discrete non linear programming problems is presented. Several recent techniques and algorithms for non-linear programming have been adapted and new ideas have been introduced. They include the minimax and exterior-point approaches to non-linear programming, leastpth optimization and the Dakin tree-search algorithm. The user may optionally choose the combination of techniques and algorithms best suited to his problems. Since many practical design problems can be easily formulated as non-linear programming problems, the programme, called DISOPT, enjoys a very wide range of applications such as continuous and discrete tolerance assignments, digital filter design, circuit design, system modelling and approximation problems. Numerical results for a number of functions and circuit tolerance optimization problems are presented in this paper to demonstrate the performance of DISOPT.

摘要:
A method for weather forecasting, based on application of adaptive filtering technique to a stochastic system model describing the dynamics of weather variables, is presented. The weather dynamic model is in the form of linear multiple order difference equations which include the interdependence of different weather variables as well as their correlations in terror of number of days. The identification and prediction algorithms are recursive and suitable for on-line computations. Results of real data processing for forecasting daily maximum temperature and maximum humidity based on above technique are also included.

摘要:
The problem of decoupling, crucial to the analysis of the differential equations governing the behaviour of bi-state social interaction processes with time dependent parameters, is investigated in this study. The feasibility of achieving the decoupling is demonstrated for classes of systems satisfying certain parametric constraints. These constraints are interpreted as certain physical properties, to be possessed by the bi-state social interaction process, which are sufficient for decoupling the given process into two independent processes.
