摘要:
This work formulates a basic economic system for the United States, with constraints on energy resources. The sensitivity of the resource equations is examined and possible future trends in resource economics are predicted. An optimal control policy on the effective growth rate of labour is developed. The results are in good agreement with economic principles and reasoning and in addition provide a guideline for the energy policies of the future.

This paper considers the state estimation of linear discrete-time systems with uncertain-delayed observations. Using a Gaussian approximation, a sub-optimal, recursive, nonlinear estimator is derived, and by means of a simulation study its performance is compared with that of the best linear filter based on the same observation model.

摘要:
The optimal control of a class of control unconstrained bilinear systems is considered. It is demonstrated that mere application of known necessary conditions of optimality is insufficient to solve the problem numerically. A technique overcoming this difficulty is proposed. It is demonstrated in an example involving optimal shut-down control of a nuclear reactor under xenon poisoning. The TPBVP is solved numerically using the variation of extremals method.

摘要:
The effects of spatial localization of reaction on the stability of a crossingly controlled enzyme reaction system are explored. Throe typos of localizations are derived. The two cases of them are proved to be stable on account of some spatially averaging effects. The last case is a generalization of the models of Glass and Kauffman (1972) and Thames (1973), having the localized source terms driven by the distant signals. For this case instability criteria are obtained by the frequency domain analysis and an approximate limit cycle solution is given.

This paper studies the attitude estimation of a rigid spacecraft from the noise-corrupted measures provided by sensors. The method used is based on the EKF algorithm and, duo to the lack of precision that can exist on the values of certain parameters, an augmented state-vector comprising these parameters must be considered. The filter thon provides an estimation of these parameters along with the original state-variables of the system. The method is implemented using a simulated model.

摘要:
A general method is presented for evaluating the reliability of complex systems, subsystems of which may have many failure modes. The method is easily com-puterizable, computationally efficient and has low memory requirements. Compared to the existing methods for a single failure mode case, this method has the additional advantages of avoiding repeated generation of compared numbers and requiring no selection of prime implieants or their subsets. Examples of the method have been included.

摘要:
A method for the analysis of the effects of subjective and objective tolerances in networks and systems is presented in this paper. The imprecision of the components is represented using fuzzy sets and then the value of the desired attribute is computed. The resulting attribute is also fuzzy and is obtained in the form of a fuzzy set. This fuzzy set contains the extremal and other values of the desired attribute along with their grades of membership. Thus, apart from getting the extremel values, we get the overall picture of the attribute. Since this method is directly applicable for the analysis of subjective tolerances, networks representing humanistic systems may be analysed using this method.

Given a network with a source and a destination vertices, fixed traversal times, time-dependent capacities of edges, and permissible held-over periods at the vertices. The p-period maximal dynamic flow problem is to find the maximal flow that can be transferred from the source to the destination within p periods of time. The paper presents an ulgorithm for the solution of this problem, reviews previous results for simpler cases and reports on some limited computational experience.

In this paper, multivariable systems theory is used to synthesize control policies for a manufacturing system which is modelled as a linear discrete-time multivariable dynamical system. The state variables of the system are the rates-of-flow of parts at the various work stations, the buffer inventories, anil the finished product inventories. The control inputs are the man-hours per week required for the various processes involved in the manufacturing system, anil the disturbance inputs are the demands for semi-finished and finished parts. 摘要:
Recursive identification algorithms based on least square estimation procedure have been presented for both linear and a class of nonlinear systems. The linear system is represented by an impulse response model while the non-linear system is a cascade combination of a. linear part and u zero memory non-linear part. It has been shown that even in the presence of coloured noise, for the model selected, ordinary least square estimation gives unbiased estimates of the system parameters. Results are illustrated through suitable numerical examples.
