摘要:
In many situations one has to find the best alternative on the basis of many aspects which have varying degrees of importance. The problem is more complex if the ratings of the alternatives and the importance of the aspects are expressed using qualitative variables likegood, fair, very important, etc. This paper presents a method for decision making in such situations. The qualitative terms are represented quantitatively using fuzzy sots and then the fuzzy optimal alternative is computed. The fuzzy set representing the optimal alternative gives the relative merit of each alternative and thus helps in decision making.

摘要:
This paper deals with multi-objective optimization in decentralized management of development in large production organizations. In the model of large decentralized production system, which was introduced by Kulikowski, each sector maximizes the net profit by choosing the optimum input mix, produced by the remaining sectors while the central decision system maximizes the integrated output production function by the best allocation of investments and other government expenditure such as research and development, education, etc. We assume the sectors input-output relation is a generalized C.E.S. production function. The optimization problem in each sector is first solved and then the entire Pareto optimal solution set for multi-objective optimization problem in central decision system is derived.

摘要:
This paper deals with optimization of non-linear dynamic consumption model withnconsumer classes which was introduced by Kulikowski. In the model the utility function of each consumer classes is assumed to be approximated by the generalized Cobb-Douglas function and the problem of multicriteria optimization is formulated. Introducing an objective function which is expressed as a function ofnutility function, we first optimize the model with respect to another criterion which is a linear combination ofnutility functionals, The solution of the linear combination problem is obtained as a function of the weighting factors in the linear combination functional. A search procedure is then used to determine the optimum values of these weighting factors for the specified objective function.

摘要:
Convergence proofs for least squares identification of weakly stationary processes have been published by several researches. The best known is that of Mann and Wald (1943) where an independent and identically distributed (i.i.d.) input is considered, and wherep-lim convergence is proved. Other proofs (Saridis and Stein 1908 also assume i.i.d. driving noise, though mean squares convergence is proved. In this paper no i.i.d. assumption is made but the more general bounded fourth moment white driving noise cases are covered, and a very short convergence proof is outlined. Convergence is shown to be in probability (p-lim), though under certain constraints almost sure convergence is also proved.

摘要:
This paper describes some recent studios that have been carried out on the hierarchical feedback control of largo interconnected dynamical systems. Methods are outlined for solving both large linear quadratic and non-linear problems. It is found that for the linear quadratic case it is possible to obtain a feedback control which is independent of all initial condition disturbances. This is demonstrated ona22ud-order river pollution control problem. For the nonlinear case, the control is however dependent on the initial conditions, although experience suggests that this dependence is in fact quite weak. This is shown on a highly non-linear example of two coupled synchronous machines where the same control law is able to provide near-optimal performances for varying initial conditions.

The synthesis of an optimum feedforward controller for a linearized distributed parameter system is considered in this paper. The formulation is as a classical minimum norm problem in Hilbert space. Solution is by means of the conjugate gradient algorithm. The theory is applied to an illustrative example of a counter flow heat exchanger. The necessity of some feedback action is discussed.

摘要:
Additional properties and applications of matrix continued fraction are investigated. The state-space equations, which are the minimal realizations of a transfer-function matrix with various dimensions, are formulated in the coordinates of the second Cauer matrix form and the phase variable matrix form by a linear transformation. An algebraic method is derived to obtain the reduction and inversion of a transfer-function matrix with various dimensions.
