AbstractA series of polyethylenes developed for use as high voltage electric cable insulation have been studied. All crosslinked polyethylene materials show similar thermal aging characteristics, whereas linear low‐density polyethylene is susceptible to thermal aging at higher annealing temperatues. Tree‐retardant additives are soluble in xylene, but some are also attached to the gel network. They function both as enhanced antioxidants and as enhancers of electric breakdown strength. AbstractFormulas are derived relating the deformation resulting from the application of a forcefto the poles of a sphere of uniform modulus. When the forcefis applied, the poles, originally a distance 2R* apart, now are a distance2Ruapart. Also, the diameter of the sphere at its equator is increased from2R* to a new value2Re. For an ideal rubbery material with a shear modulus ofg, the force is related to the change in equatorial diameter by\documentclass{article}\pagestyle{empty}\begin{document}$$ \sigma _c = \frac{f}{{\pi R^{*2} }} = G\left\{ {\left( {\frac{R}{{R^* }}} \right)_e^4 - \left( {\frac{{R^* }}{R}} \right)_e^2 } \right\}. $$\end{document}Thus, measurement of the increase in relative radius at the equator as a function of force applied at the poles yields the modulus directly. The change inRvalso can be related toG, but a numerical integration is required. Equations can also be derived relating modulus to dimensional changes when Hooke's law is used in place of ideal rubber elasticity.

摘要:
AbstractAniline was polymerized using a static electrochemical cell and a fluidized bed electrode reactor (both static and fluidized beds) to form thin films, respectively, on plate and particulate substrates. Parameters such as reaction time, applied voltage, anolyte flowrate, and monomer concentration on the rate of polymerization were studied and correlated with polymer film thickness and surface morphology, as observed on a scanning electron microscope.
