SUMMARYThe authors present the clinical, histological and laboratory findings in a case of cutaneous necrotizing vasculitis which fits the picture of Gougerot's nodular dermal allergide. They discuss the classification of dermal vasculitis, and the reasons for regarding it as a hypersensitivity reaction.

SUMMARYThe dermatophyte Microsporum distortum has been recovered from 32 human infections and 7 animals in New Zealand. All cases have occurred within a limited rural area of the Otago province. A comparison of clinical and epidemiological characteristics of M. distortum ringworm with those of Microsporum canis reveals a close similarity between the two fungi. Both show a predilection for the scalp area and have similar age, sex and seasonal distributions. Cats seem to be the main source of human infection, but with M. distortum it is possible that these animals serve merely as a vector between man and some hitherto unidentified (wild) animal reservoir.

SUMMARYFifty‐eight patients suffering from a variety of dermatoses were treated with 10% urea in a non‐greasy base. Excellent results were obtained in patients with ichthyosis and other hyperkeratotic conditions. In atopic dermatitis, disseminated neurodermatitis, hand dermatitis and seborrhœic dermatitis the results were only fair. SUMMARYThis paper reports the case of a baby with coronary calcinosis born to a mother suffering from pseudoxanthoma elasticum.The aetiology of infantile coronary calcification is discussed, and the point is made that the dystrophic type is a disease of elastic tissue.Both conditions are rare genetic diseases and show dystrophic changes of the elastic tissue.
