摘要:
AbstractThe photographic plate provides a medium of measurement recording, from which it is possible to work out the directions to the satellite positions. This medium contains not only the field of reference points in the form of numerous breaks in the star tracks, but also the new points in the shape of the interrupted satellite tracks or the records of the light flashes of the satellites. Emphasis will be laid on that method which uses the broken satellite track, because its calculation procedure covers those of all other recording methods. Along with this photographic record there is the other record of time readings by means of which the individual observations are referred to World Time (UT2).

摘要:
AbstractA station adjustment is carried out by the conventional least squares procedure and by calculating weighted means of correlated data. Both procedures give identical results including the weights of the adjusted values.

摘要:
AbstractThe account of hydrostatic levelling operations in the Netherlands published by A. Waalewijn [1] in 1965 aroused considerable interest in the Ordnance Survey which at that time was considering the use of hydrostatic levelling in connection with the possible construction of a barrage across the Thames estuary. This project entailed a detailed investigation of tidal movements in the estuary from tide gauges to be installed on offshore forts. The datums of the gauges were to be connected to the geodetic levelling network. The water gaps involved were too great for optical levelling whether by conventional methods or by the trigonometric method of transfer described by J. W. Williams [2], and it appeared that hydrostatic levelling might be the answer to the problem.
