摘要:
AbstractDifferent approaches to the statistical theory of bremsstrahlung in nonequilibrium plasma‐molecular systems are compared. The spectra of bremsstrahlung, as well as collision integrals and effective dissipation constants are calculated for such systems within the framework of both classical and quantum theor

摘要:
AbstractA regular truncation scheme in which the divergencies characteristic of the Debye truncation are removed by taking into account the shall‐range correlations. As a result, the two radii of screening the Debye radiusDand √2Dappear in plasma which is not symmetrical as to its particle charges. The criterion of the applicability of this approach relates the plasma parameter to the potential depth of unlike‐charged particles intera

摘要:
AbstractWe have studied the analytic solutions for modified electron acoustic double layers and solitary waves in a four component plasma system viz. two electrons and two ions, one positive and the other negative. It has been shown thatDLsolution does not exist when the temperatures of the free and the trapped particles are considered to be same for all the free species. On the other hand,DLsolutions are found to exist when the effects of the reflected electrons (hot) are considered. The velocity and thickness of theDLhave been valculated.

摘要:
AbstractThe kinetic current‐convective instability excited in a hot electron plasma, i.e. forTe≫Ti, is investigated in the linear stage. Density and temperature of plasma components have gradients along thex‐direction. In the absence of longitudinal current (u= 0) and homogeneous temperature the instability is also excited with maximum growth rate much exceeding that obtained in the case ofu≠ 0. Gradual increasing of the ion temperature over that of the electrons and a large density gradient leads to reduce the instability in the linea

摘要:
AbstractThis paper deals with the gravitational instability of an infinite homogeneous viscous rotating plasma of finite electrical conductivity in the combined presence of effects of Hall currents, finite Larmor radius (FLR) and thermal conductivity. The ambient magnetic field is assumed to be uniform and acting along the vertical direction. Both longitudinal and transverse modes of wave propagation have been studied. It is shown that Jean's criterion determines the gravitational instability even in the presence of the effects of thermal conductivity, viscosity, finite electrical conductivity,FLR, rotation and Hall currents. Further it is found that whileFLR, viscosity and rotation have a stabilizing influence, both the thermal and the electrical conductivities have a destabilizing influence on the gravitational instability of a plasma.

摘要:
AbstractIn the paper we have presented the model method of calculating electrical arc parameters in the macroparticles' electrodynamic accelerator at the given rail width and the given width between them. The method is based on energy losses simulation at the arc's boundary surfaces and is a modification of the one‐dimensional version of Powell and Batteh's method. It has been shown that the proposed method is adequate for operative use and that it enables the determination of both macroscopic arc parameters · acceleration, length, electroconductivity, mean temperature and density of particles etc., as well as local arc plasma parameters. The values of these parameters are determined by numerical solutions of the self‐consistent system of mangetic‐hydro‐dynamic, material and thermodynamic equations, at the arc's given mass and muzzle voltage between rails. It has also been shown that the proposed method allows the comparison of one‐, two‐ and three‐dimensional arc approximations. In the present paper we have used the method assuming that arc plasma is at most doubly ionized and produced exclusively b

摘要:
AbstractAfter the investigation of the influence of current and tube radius on the power concentration of the Hg‐rare gas discharge in the two previous parts, part III deals with the corresponding effects of additional recombination surfaces. The plasma parameters (radiant flux of the resonance lines, field strength, electron density, electron energy distribution function) are measured in a discharge tube with an axial glass rod. With increasing rod diameter and increasing distance from the tube axis radial radiation intensity distribution becomes asymmetric. The field strength increases with the radius of the rod. The dependence of the field strength and that of the radiant flux on the parameters of the discharge do not basically change. The measured UV‐radiation efficiency of the positive column is higher than that of discharges without axial rod for equal tube radius. This is attributed primarily to the changed radial electron density distribution and its effect on the collision proces

摘要:
AbstractIn order to characterize an r.f. low‐pressure discharge in diode systems which are capacitively coupled to the r.f. generator the content of harmonics in current and voltage is experimentally investigated. The discharge‐conditioned content of harmonics in the voltage is practically negligible. The spectrum of the discharge current is qualitatively and quantitatively dependent on the whole reactor/generator arrangement producing the discharge. For an asymmetrical diode with a self‐excited generator it is shown that the content of harmonics in the discharge current is highly dependent on the radio‐frequency voltage, the d.c. self‐bias of the r.f. electrode, the effective power and the pressure. Conclusions are discussed concerning a connection between the content of harmonics, on the one hand, and carrier‐density modulation and power dissipation at the substrate electrode, on the
