摘要:
AbstractGlobal behavior of field line diffusion in a stochastic magnetic field is obtained. Stochastic motion of particles undergoing mutural random collisions in the stochastic magnetic field is studied for the whole time range. The field line as wel as the particle diffusion coefficients are calculated to the sixth order of the relative magnitude of the fluctuating magnetic field.

摘要:
AbstractAn efficient method for solving the inhomogeneous electron Boltzmann equation for a weakly ionized collision dominated plasma is represented. As a first application this method is used to investigate in a helium plasma the response of the electron velocity distribution function and of the relevant macroscopic quantities to the impact of spatially limited disturbances in the electric field. In addition to the field action elastic and (conservative) inelastic collisions of electrons with gas atoms are taken into account in the kinetic treatment. In this way the spatial relaxation behaviour of the electrons and their establishment into homogeneous plasma states could be studied on a strict kinetic basis. Unexpectedly large relaxation lengths in electron acceleration direction have been found at medium electric fields.

AbstractSurface‐wave gas discharges sustained under the conditions of a diffusion controlled regime are studied on the basis of the fluid plasma model. The self‐consistent behaviour of the plasma density and of the field intensity along the discharge length is obtained. It is shown that the nonlinearity in the particle balance equation due to stepwise ionisation determines the plasma density in terms of the field intensity and ensures self‐consistent behaviour of the wave ⟺ discharge characteristics in a diffusion controlled

AbstractProfiles of the Balmer linesDa(Ha),Dβ(Hβ) andDγ(Hγ) have been measured in the scrape‐off layer and within the edge of the TEXTOR (upgrade) plasma, under Ohmic conditions and with neutral‐beam injection. Each line profile shows a strong Zeeman effect in the vicinity of line centre, and a marked central dip when mainly the σ components are observed. The line core evidently originates from cold atoms in the edge plasma, excited in the course of molecular dissociation, while the broad pedestal on which the core rests is radiated by excited atoms produced through charge‐exchange recombination of deuterons (protons), transported outwards from the much hotter plasma interior, and by atoms heated directly by collisions with the deuterons (protons). Core temperatures of about 0.5 eV and less are obtained from line profil

AbstractThe back‐corona discharge has been successfully applied as a plasma source for decomposition of NO2in the oxygen‐free gas mixture of N2:NO2. The paper reports a first attempt to use back‐corona discharge for noxious gas conversion. The preliminary results of laboratory experiments in a needle‐to‐plate reactor show that the De‐NOxprocesses in back‐corona discharge are similar to the dc streamer corona discharges generated in the same geometry. Both types of discharges convert NO2to nitrogen, oxygen and also to N2O and NO.
