摘要:
AbstractLocalized nonlinear ion acoustic waves are investigated for plasmas containing impurity ions or negatively charged dust particles. It is found that dark as well as the usual bright ion acoustic solitions can exist.

摘要:
AbstractThe composition and the equation of state for a binary mixture of dense partially ionized hydrogen and helium are investigated on the basis of quantum statistical theory. Theoretical evidence for the existence of a hydrogen‐like and helium‐like plasma phase transition is found. Critical data for the phase transitions are given for the whole range of the mixing parame

摘要:
AbstractThe paper presents a model of arc in a d.c. vortex plasma torch which allows to determine distributions of temperature and plasma electron density in conditions of reduced pressure. The model makes it possible to elucidate voltage‐current characteristics of the arc at different pressures and its dynamic behaviour connected with the phenomenon of the electric arc root displacement. The experimental research also determined voltage‐current characteristics for different flow rates and pressures. The fluctuations of the arc current and the arc voltage were measured. The corresponding wave shapes were analysed by Fast Fourier Transform. The frequency variations with flow rate, arc current and pressure were studied and discus

摘要:
AbstractExact explicit solutions, describing the propagation of wideband non‐sinusoidal waveforms in the ionospheric Alfvén waveguide by means of non‐separable electromagnetic fields, are presented. The dispersive modulation of these fields is shown to result in the formation of quasimonochromatic oscillations at the wings of the Alfvén pulses. The frequencies of these oscillations are close to the cut off frequencies of the wave

摘要:
AbstractWe present here a self consistent theory of small amplitude double layers associated with electrostatic ion cyclotron waves in a plasma containing hot electrons, cold ions and traversed by an ion beam. It has been shown that compressive type of double layers solution exists when θb(beam temperature)<αb(beam concentration)<

摘要:
AbstractThe combined influence of the effects of Hall currents, magnetic resistivity and viscosity have been studied on the gravitational instability of a thermally conducting homogeneous unbounded plasma in an oblique magnetic field. The solution has been obtained through the normal mode technique and the dispersion relation has been derived. It is shown that the Jeans' criterion for gravitational instability remains unchanged. Solving numerically the dispersion relation, the dependence of the growth rate of the gravitational unstable mode on the considered physical effects has been obtained for an astrophysical situation. For conditions prevailing in the magnetized collapsing clouds, the numerical calculations for the plot of growth rate against wave number has been obtained for several values of the parameters characterizing Hall currents magnetic resistivity viscosity thermal conductivity. It is found that magnetic resistivity and thermal conductivity have destabilizing influence while viscosity has stabilizing influence on the instability of the plasma of disturbance m(ϱ) = 9 × 10−
