摘要:
AbstractThis paper presents new linear programming techniques for the design of optimal 1D IIR digital filters. the first method is based on a linear minimax criterion and leads to a linear programming approximation problem whose optimal solution is attained by a new fast algorithm. Next, the linear minimax approximation problem is extended and formulated as two linear integer programming problems which permit the design of 1D IIR digital filters with coefficients of finite word length. the first of these methods is formulated as a 0‐1 integer linear programming problem and its optimal solution is attained rapidly by a new algorithm. This method appears to be suitable for the design of high‐order digital filters. the second method is more general and is formulated as a mixed integer linear programming problem. to solve the design problem efficiently, a new integer tree search algorithm is introduced. the feasibility of the proposed algorithms is illustrated with detailed solutions or numerical examp

AbstractThe presented rational function is a modification of a recently published Chebyshev rational function defined by means of some orthogonal polynomials. the necessary conditions providing for the lowest poleQ‐factors for a given ripple are found. the function is a ratio of two similar Chebyshev polynomial transfer functions with multiple poles.The selectivity of the function can be increased by using the Chebyshev rational characteristic function instead of the characteristic polynomials. the minimum number of active elements in the cascade connection is obtained with third‐order elliptic characteristic functions.The function is compared with the Cauer (elliptic) and MCPER filters. the distinctive features of the presented function are smallQ‐factors of the poles, almost ideal dynamic range, simple design and poles with the same multiplicitym, wheremdesignates the number of cascaded b

AbstractOperational transconductance amplifiers (OTAs) can be compensated by a capacitor placed in the differential‐to‐single‐ended (D/SE) conversion stage. the concept involved in shaping the magnitude and phase‐frequency response of OTAs is to realize a low‐frequency zero such that the effects of double poles prior to unity gain are not felt. It is sometimes possible to meet the objectives of gain and phase margin by providing compensation in more than one stage. the flexibility of the scheme devised is demonstrated by suggesting alternative ways (two‐capacitor compensation) to realize desired root locations. the key point in achieving proper compensation always remains the appropriate choice of capacitor size. Thus the size of the compensation capacitor and placement of the compensation network have been presented here from the context of suitability for implementation in MOS foundries. the compensation schemes discussed are suitable in the second or additional

AbstractAmong non‐linear vector fields, the simplest that can be studied are those which are continuous and piecewise linear. Associated with these types of vector fields are partitions of the state space into a finite number of regions. In each region the vector field is linear. On the boundary between regions it is required that the vector field be continuous from both regions in which it is linear. This presentation is devoted to the analysis in two dimensions of the simplest possible types of continuous piecewise linear vector fields, namely linear vector fields possessing only one boundary condition. As a practical concern the analysis will attempt to ask and answer questions raised about the existence of steady state solutions. Since the local theory of fixed points in a linear vector field is sufficient to determine the stability of fixed points in a piecewise linear vector field, most of the steady state behaviour to be studied will be towards limited cycles. the results will present sufficient conditions for the existence, or non‐existence as the case may be, of limit cycles. Particular attention will be paid to the domain of attraction whenever possible.With these results qualitative statements may be made for piecewise linear models of many physical syst

摘要:
AbstractThe paper treats the development of a non‐linearly stabilized oscillator model for generating four sine waves in quadrature. the treatment appears important although quadrature signals can also be generated by a well‐known twophase oscillator. the latter generates only two of the signals needed in a four‐phase system, but the rest of the phases signals could nevertheless be generated by simply inverting the two existing signals. For certain applications, however, the generation of all four signals in a completely cyclic and symmetrical manner is preferable. This method of generation is dealt with in the present paper. A previous paper of ours has treated a system of a similar objective. the present system, however, is much simpler. This simplicity is manifested not only through the mathematical representation but also when an electronic realization of the system is considered. the present model realization appears considerably less expensive, since the number of necessarily non‐linear operations is much reduced.
