摘要:
AbstractSimulation and optimization of multicomponent distillation. Different methods for simulating multicomponent distillation columns are presented and compared with respect to the effort required and the accuracy that may be obtained. Inclusion of mass transfer kinetics based on the laws of multicomponent diffusion in the models significantly increases computer time, but the additional accuracy in the prediction of concentration profiles may justify this effort also in design practice. In particular, the unusual behaviour of concentration profiles due to multidiffusion effects can only be explained by such improved models. The new methods of multicriteria optimization offer substantial advantages over a scalar‐optimization and, in addition to economic criteria, also allow inclusion of aspects of operational safety and of environmental requirement

AbstractDustless powders by spray drying – Experience with new techniques. Old drying plant with rotary‐ or nozzle‐atomizer of conventional construction produce more or less fine, dusty powder. Increasingly, there is a demand for dustless powders. A knowledge of the parameters which influence the size of the particles and the experience gained in the drying of various products was the basis for the evolution of a new spray dryer capable of producing even dustless powder. Many trials in this new spray dryer, called the FSD (Fluidized Spray Dryer) show that the powder meets all requirements. AbstractThermal spray technique in chemical equipment and machine construction – Plant, materials, applications. The metal spray technique originally used only for repair applications is nowadays also used for production of new equipment since the attainable life expectancy of the coated parts plus the possibility of using inexpensive basic materials result in a significant increase in economy. AbstractUse of carbon fibres in equipment constuction. Carbon fibres are characterized by high tensile strengths, high modulus of elasticity, and good corrosion resistance. They are therefore especially suitable for reinforcement of components made of plastics (CFC). Carbon fibre reinforced parts made of resin‐impregnated graphite withstand higher mechanical stress and offer greater reliability in operation. CFP materials is an economical alternative to high‐alloyed steel for use in corrosive media. Apart from graphite CFC is one of the few materials of construction suitable for use up to temperatures of over 2000 °C.
