摘要:
AbstractCatalytic properties of silicic acids and metal oxides prepared hydrolytically at high temperatures. The physical and chemical properties of silicic acids and metal oxides (Al2O3and TiO2P25) prepared hydrolytically at high temperatures are described, insofar as they might be of interest to catalyst producers. A highly topical literature survey reveals areas of interest in the fields of research and practical applications. The experimental section deals with the preparation of catalyst supports made of highly dispersed silica gel products. Their characteristics are tabulated.

AbstractSafety aspects in the planning and construction of chemical plants. Pre‐requisites for the construction of a “safe plant” are reliable documentation, practicable laws and regulations, and systematic working by experienced specialists during the planning and implementation stages of a project. During the phase when the concept is being established, comprehensive data must be available on all the materials and their reactions. Already at this stage, safety aspects of importance under a wide range of operating conditions are taken into account by all the specialists in close collaboration. During the detailed planning and project implementation stages, safety criteria for individual components are drawn up and compiled. During the final safety discussions, all aspects relating to safety are systematically checked. 摘要:
AbstractAcceptance testing and surveillance of plant. Existing legislation require acceptance testing of the principal components of a chemical plant prior to its commissioning. As shown for a pressure vessel, this testing of a large chemical plant can only be performed effectively if the necessary concepts have been developed and the data required have been collected during the planning and construction stage. It is not sufficent to consider the components individually. Their incorporation into the plant and their mutal interaction are just as important. Acceptance testing must be preceded by a consideration of the overall safety of the plant. This does not require any new regulations. Regular surveillance ensures that the established safety level is maintained. Many surveillance measures are already stipulated during acceptance testing.

AbstractAeration of relatively viscous liquids. The article considers the flooding point and stirrer performance, as well as mass transfer in agitator vessels and bubble columns, in relatively viscous (aqueous glucose and glycerol solutions as well as millet broth) and non‐Newtonian liquids (aqueous CMC and PAA solutions). Numerous experimental results published in the available literature and several obtained by the author provide a basis for these considerations. All the experimental results are presented in the framework of similarity theory. Thus it also proves possible to present thekLavalues in sorption characteristics. In order to achieve this aim, a representative viscosity is introduced for non‐Newtonian liquids, both in agitator vessels and in bubble columns. The comprehensive and comparative account reflects the current state of the art. Design data and dimensioning criteria are given for certain systems and working ranges. Comparison between agitator vessels and bubble columns on the basis of the design data derived permits predictions to be made regarding the suitability of various articles of equipment. Some of the results have already been reported
