摘要:
In 100 matings grouped in 83 pedigrees linkage analysis has been performed for the relation of PGMX and PGM3 to sex and several marker loci including PTC, ABO, Rh, MNS, P, K, Le (= Se), Lu, Fy, Hp, Gc, Gm, Inv, AcP, ADA, AK and HL-A. Lod scores calculated by other authors have been included in the final evaluation. For the PGM3:HL-A relation the probability of linkage is raised from 0.054 to 0.25, while the probability is raised only slightly for PGM3:P and PGM3:K relations, i.e. to 0.073 and 0.060, respectively. For the PGM^Fy relation, the probability is unchanged. For the rest of the relations investigated, the evidence disfavours linkage. Unfortunately, the phenotyping of the PTC-taste sensitivity and the Lu(a) character must be regarded with some scepticism. The previously reported excess of Hp 2–1 children in the mating Hp 2–1 × Hp 2–2 was also found in this series. In the present material the gene frequency of AK2 is 0.033, and the gene frequency of ADA2 is

摘要:
A simple, time-saving agar gel electrophoretic technique for determination of adenylate kinase phenotypes is described. The separations were performed in 0.05 m phosphate buffer, pH 6.2, in a water-cooled apparatus at a voltage gradient of 22 V/cm. Thirty samples could be separated in 30 min. The resolution was at least as good as with starch gel electrophoresis. Investigation of hemolysates from 505 blood doners in southern Sweden revealed a frequency of 0.9653 for the AK1 gene and 0.0347 for AK2. None of the rare phenotypes were found.

摘要:
Leucine aminopeptidase isozymes were examined in the extracts of organs from 70 human foetuses of varying intrauterine age. In some organs (intestine, kidney and pancreas) developmental differences were found, while in others (liver, heart and spleen) no differences were observed between adult and foetal organs.

摘要:
In 107 matings with 377 children studied in this report the acid phosphatase distribution is in accordance with a three allele hypothesis. This is also found when the results of all the family studies made up ta the present are compiled. A family is presented in which the Pd allele is shown to be segregating at the AcP locus. The gene frequencies in Denmark are: Pa: 0.353; Pb: 0.591; Pc: 0.055 and Pd: 0.0007.

摘要:
The finger print patterns of an unselected series of same-sexed sets of triplets have been analysed with respect to qualitative and quantitative characteristics. The material comprised nine trizygotic, 28 dizygotic, 16 monozygotic and one un-classifiable, probably trizygotic sets. Comparisons between the various zygosity types and between each of these and the general population showed that monozygotic triplets from monozygotic sets had a significantly lower proportion of arches than any other group. Monozygotic triplets from dizygotic sets and the two groups of dizygotic triplets presented only minor deviations from one another and from the population with regard to qualitative characteristics. No indications of a high frequency of mirror-imaging in monozygotic triplets were observed. The mean of the total ridge-count was higher and the variance lower in monozygotic triplets from monozygotic male sets than in monozygotic triplets from dizygotic male sets. The former group also presented less similarity between the members of a set with respect to total ridge-count. Most of these qualitative pecularities were only seen in males which makes it less likely that they are related to the special conditions connected with the origin of monozygotic sets of triplets. The only more general difference between most groups of triplets and the population was a lower variance of total ridge-counts; this may possibly be associated with the unusual intrauterine conditions of triplet pregnancies. In the evaluation of triplet zygosity, based on finger print examinations, it seems safe to use the empirical odds values obtained from twin materials in the calculation of the probability of monozygosity.

摘要:
It was hypothesized that heritability estimates based on a simple additive model of environment and heredity would be spuriously high if there were actually an interaction between them. Results of a musical aptitude test given to twin pairs with different amounts of music lessons indicated higher heritability compared to twin pairs with the same amount of music lessons. It is logical to assume that interaction of environment and heredity produced the higher heritability estimate.
