摘要:
A new variation in the group-specific component (GC) system, which was presumed to have arisen from duplication of the GC 1F and GC 1A2 genes, was previously reported from our laboratory. Through a genetic survey of a Japanese population, a second example of the same variation was found in a family.

Using random population data on the ABO, MN, esterase D (EsD), glyoxalase I, complement (C3) and haptoglobin markers in the population of Madras City associations were studied between these genetic systems. Out of a total of fifteen comparisons one significant association (χ2 0.02) was found between the EsD and C3 phenotypes
