摘要:
AbstractLa condensation de la glucoréductone avec la 2,5,6‐triamino‐4‐hydroxypyrimidine ne donne pas de ptéridine, mais un produit intermédiaire. La réaction de l'hydroxyméthylglyoxal sur la même pyrimidine engendre une ptéridine, pour laquelle deux formules sont possibles. Il y a lieu d'admettre que le groupe hydroxyméthyle du produit occupe la place 7 dans le noyau de ptéridine. La ptérine est caractérisée à l'état de diacétat

AbstractIn a further investigation on the sterol fraction from the mussel(mytilus edulis) the following degradation products have been obtained by oxidation of the ultra‐violet irradiation product: formaldehyde, the well known degradation ketone C18H32O from vitamin‐D3, methyl‐isopropyl‐acetaldehyde and isopropyl‐acetaldehyde. The latter aldehydes were detected by conversion into and isolation of the corresponding acid amides.Qualitative and quantitative consideration of the results compared with similar degradations of calciferol and an irradiation product from 7‐dehydrocholesterol, as well as biological data, lead to the conclusion that “mussel provitamin‐D” is composed of:The last two components probably cannot, or at least to a small extent only, be activated

AbstractIn a previous publicationC. J. P. Spruit, Rec. trav. chim.66, 655 (1947).) we dealt with the preparation and properties of a number of derivatives of naphthyl‐2‐methylketoneThe name ‐ acetyl ‐ for the side chain, adopted in Part I for the sake of brevity, is abandoned for the substitution products. It is felt that the present nomenclature is not entirely satisfactory, especially for the quinones., substituted in various positions of the nucleus. This paper describes some compounds, derived from 1,4‐dihydroxynaphthyl‐2‐methylketone and 1,2‐dihydroxynaphthyl‐3‐methylketone by substitution in the methyl group.Although it has been found possible in some cases, to introduce the grouping ‐COCH2R directly into derivatives of naphthalene, by far the most convenient way has been found in the photochemical bromination of 1,4‐dihydroxynaphthyl‐2‐methylketone. The bromine atom in the resulting 1,4‐dihydroxynaphthyl‐2‐bromomethylketone is reactive, an

摘要:
AbstractA number of pure olefines with up to 8 C atoms was subjected to formylation, a process by which CO and H2are added to the olefine followed by hydrogenation of the aldehydes obtained to the corresponding alcohols. The structure of the alcohols was determined by converting them by careful dehydration and hydrogenation into the corresponding paraffins. The paraffins were analysed by analytical rectification and determination of physical constants. From the results a number of rules are derived, which make it possible to predict the structure of the alcohols to be obtained from a given olefine. The formylation reaction presents in many cases a convenient way of synthesizing new alcohols and hydrocarbons, some of which are described.

AbstractDans ce travail, on décrit la synthèse et les propriétés d'une série de cétones dérivées du 2,5‐thioxène (2,5‐diméthylthiophène). Certaines des cétones aromatiques ainsi obtenues subissent aisément la réaction d'Elbs, et conduisent à des substances polycycliques appartenant au noyau du thiophanthrène; ces corps sont des isostères d'hydrocarbures du groupe de l'anthracène et du 1,2‐benzanthracène. Une nouvelle méthode de préparation commode est indiquée pour l'acide 2,5‐diméthyl‐3‐thenoïque, et plusieurs dérivés de ce corps sont décrits, ainsi que certains aryléthylènes dérivant du 2,5‐thioxène. 摘要:
AbstractConditions could be found for decomposing a solution of an o‐hydroxybenzene diazonium compound into a colourless product.Such an irradiation product couples with diazonium salts in slightly acidic solution to red‐shaded dyes according to a bimolecular reaction.However, it is not stable in solution at room temperature, but is converted slowly into a non‐coupling dimeric form.The irradiation of the diazonium salt gives rise to a new, weak acid function, that disappears again on heating, with evolution of CO2.Titration curves show that the o‐hydroxybenzene‐ and o‐hydroxynaphthalene‐diazonium compounds are decomposed in a similar way.Two irradiation products of o‐hydroxynaphthalene‐diazonium compounds have been isolated.Our results are completely understood by assuming the conversion of the benzene‐nucleus into a five‐membered ring, as recently concluded by Süs
