摘要:
The interference effect of co-existing gases other than ozone is examined when ozone is measured by means of an UV ozone monitor. Interference of non-measured organic chemical compounds can be estimated depending upon the quantities of physical function radicals. Also, for inorganic chemical compounds, some interference was observed, but does not affect actual use of the monitor.

摘要:
Long term surveillance of natural O3was performed using an In2O3-based semiconductor O3sensor and the ultraviolet absorptionmethod ( U V-method). Qualitatively the indication of the semiconductor O3sensor has agreed well with the reading of the UV-method for more than 2 years without any readjustment after the initial adjustment. But quantitatively some discrepancy between them appeared in winter and in summer. This may be attributed to the absolute humidity dependence of the sensor. In spite of the discrepancy, the indication of the sensor was in good agreement with the reading of UV-method within 30% throughout the year. Consequently the semiconductor O3sensor showed an excellent long-term stability and a good reliability in the extremely low concentrationrange below 50 ppb under various circumstances. To obtain moreaccuracy, absolute humidity compensation was tried using a thermalconductivity type absolute humidity sensor.

摘要:
A detector for continuous detennination of a trace amount of aqueous ozone, utilizing an ozone extraction process from liquid (water) into the gas phase and an In2O3thin film semiconductor ozone gas sensor, has been developed. It offers many advantages including high sensitivity to aqueous ozone and high aqueous ozone selectivity in the presence of various kinds of interfering compounds in water. It is able to detect 0.5 ppb of aqueous ozone with a sufficient response. The response to 1 ppm of free chlorine in water was smaller than that to 10 ppb of aqueous ozone. Long term monitoring aqueous ozone over 100 days was performed in an experimental plant for ozone treatment in water supply with the present aqueous ozone detector. The readings of the detector agreed well with the results of iodometry during the monitoring.

摘要:
A method based on a continuous operating ozone reactor is proposed which allows the determination of two fundamental parameters: the instantaneous ozone demand (X) and the ozone decay (k) for different types of water. An example of ozone reactor calculation is given to illustrate the full-scale application of this method.
