摘要:
AbstractThe Raman spectrum of hydrogen peroxide in the vapor phase has been measured for the first time by means of an Ar+laser source. Three parallel bands were found at 3607 (v1), 1393.5 (v2), and 863.5 (v3) cm−1, with relative intensities of about 10:3:12. In deuterium peroxide the corresponding frequencies are 2668.5, 1028.5, and 867.0 cm−1, and the relative intensities, 20:3:12. Thus, the OO stretching frequency is appreciably lower in the free molecule than in condensed phases (880 cm−1). The shift corresponds to a bond shortening of about 0.01 Å in the latter, in agreement with X‐ray and neutron diffraction data for various crystals. The slight shift tohigherfrequency of the OO vibration in D2O2is due primarily to coupling with the OD bending, as indicated by a normal coordin

摘要:
AbstractThe pure rotational and rotation‐vibrational Raman spectra of14N2,14N15N and15N2have been photographed using a previously described instrument. The analyses of the bands yield for each moleculev0,B0,B1‐B0andD. From the values ofB0andB0‐B1the internuclear distancesreare calculated independently for each species. Within the experimental accuracy the distances are identical as required by the Born‐Oppenheimer approximation. The mean value forreis 1.097701 ± ± 0

摘要:
AbstractThe Raman and infrared spectra of sulphuryl fluoride in the vapour phase have been reinvestigated. A new assignment of thea1OSO bending vibration is proposed on the basis of accurate measurements of trace scattering in overlapping bands in the 550 cm−1region. The band previously reported at 388 cm−1in the Raman spectrum of the gas is shown in fact to lie at 384 cm−1and thus to be virtually coincident with thea1FSF bending vibration (at 384.5 cm−1in the infrared) and it is concluded that thea2torsion (infrared inactive) still remains undetected in the Raman s

摘要:
AbstractResonance Raman spectra of aqueous solutions of protohemin and its complex with imidazole have been obtained using several exciting lines from Ar+and HeCd lasers. The effects of different axial ligands to iron in hemin are reflected in the resonance Raman spectra of their respective complexes. Within experimental limits, hemin does not show any anomalously polarized bands (Q1>¾) while its complex with imidazole shows several such bands when excitation is in the α and β absorption regions. When excitation is in the Soret region, a polarized band ∼ 1500 cm−1appears in the spectra of hemin‐imidazole complex and heme proteins. It is proposed as a spin state marker as well as to characterize the position of the iron ion relative to the porphyrin plane.Excitation profiles for some of the bands of hemin confirm the assigment of the α band near 5300 Å in the unresolved visible absorptio

摘要:
AbstractThe Raman spectrum of orthorhombic sulphur has been measured in the frequency range 0‐100 cm−1for all polarisations. TheA1g(zz) andB1g(xy) spectra have been clarified by later subtraction of unwanted scattering belonging to other polarisations. Definite assignments are made for all but oneA1gand oneB2gmode. An interpretation of the intensities observed in theA1gandB1gspectra is given in terms of the rotational motion of the S8molecules affecting their contribution to the crystal polarisabil

摘要:
AbstractRaman spectra of H2S isolated in N2atM/Aratios of 30, 50, 100, and 300 and in Ar atM/Aratios of 50, 100, 300, and 1000 have been measured in the S‐H stretching region. The spectral results confirm the infrared measurements on H2S isolated in N2; however, the symmetric stretching vibration,v1, of the H2S monomer is at about the same frequency, 2619 cm−1, in the spectra of Ar matrices. This disagrees with previous infrared measurements of Ar matrices. Raman bands in the spectra of both N2and Ar matrices due to a dimer of H2S are consistent with those observed in the infrared spectrum of N2matrices, and they support a donor‐acceptor model for the
