摘要:
The study of relation between the flow and the surface area for river basins of different size and under different climatic conditions aids us to consider it as a possible basis for hydrological analysis of the streams, and permits us to deduce a method which is very valuable in regions having few or insufficient number of hydrological stations. The fundamental relation connecting the flow of a streamQ, with the surface areaA, Q = hAg, this formular being extended to all frequences of the flow is the essential tool of this method. Wether or not the basin posesses hydrometric stations, using the relation is possible: on one hand we have shown that there was a relation between the parametreshandgin a given physico-geographic circunstance that on the other hand a basin could be identified to another one on condition that their morphometric characteristics are equivalent. In all cases the unknown quantitieshandgcan be determined, the relationQ = hAgbeing defined then; so from the measure ofAwe can estimate the values of the flowQfor the frequences of it which are interesting on any part of this basin.

摘要:
A 0- to 6-inch sample of residual mineral soil was taken from 258 locations in northern California's mountain lands. Standard textural, organic matter, and erodibility analyses were made on these soil samples. These variables were then related to climatic parameters, parent material, and cover types by regression analysis. Variation in erodibility was found to be significantly correlated with parent material, cover type and climate. The acid igneous and schist rock types were more erodible than the more basic and ultramafic types. Soils developed under fir were found to be less erodible than those developed under pine, brush, or grass.

摘要:
The available rainfall and runoff data from a given watershed and stream are usually of a limited number of years. The necessity and importance of extrapolating the given data for hydrological uses are obvious. In this paper, the runoff data from the Nestos River in Greece were used in order to obtain extreme values of runoff together with their corresponding frequencies and probabilities of occurence. The applied frequency analysis method is that of the normal frequency distribution method which is widely used in Statistics. It is shown that the available analytical criteria are sufficient to permit such treatment of the runoff data which show relatively small skew.

摘要:
In an effort to make snow sampling an easier task in deep snowpack, two sets of experimental snow tubes were tested. Design of these tubes differed from the Standard Federal Snow Tubes. Results indicated greater variation between the standard snow tubes and the experimental tubes than expected due to sampling variation. Reasons for this variation and recommendation for use of these experimental tubes are given by the authors.
