Artificial recharge is a very suitable approach in the overall water resources management of a given area. What are the matter, the purposes and the past of recharge, the factors and the problems to be taken into account, the methods and the economics of this practice? 摘要:
Hydrometeorological investigations are being carried out by the Meteorological Service of the German Democratic Republic in four experimental basins with different altitudes, surface areas and physico-geographical features. This research work predominantly aims at the exploration of the water balance of the respective area, including the possibilities of extending the results by way of extrapolation to larger areas; the setting up, verification and improvement of methods designed for determining the individual components of the water balance, especially the precipitation and evapotranspiration in the respective areas; as well as for obtaining increased knowledge with regard to the heat and water balance of the snow cover. In the following, some of the hitherto achieved results of this complex research activity will be presented.

摘要:
The analysis of the exchanges of vapour and heat above a small water table, situated in the middle of a more or less dry region, leads them to be expressed in function of the thermic and hydric changes of the environment, by which the measured, screened data are influenced. This analysis allows us,—among other results,—to observe the variation from simple to the double of the evaporation. This has come to evidence already in cases when the evaporating surface diminishes.

It was found that depth-duration relations of regional rainfall, up to a duration of one day (24 hours), can be expressed by a simple non-dimensional function of one parameter: δR= (τR)n, where δR= relative rainfall depth, and τR= relative duration.

摘要:
C.K. Stidd (“Cube-root-normal precipitation distributions”, Transactions of the American Geophysical Union, 1953, vol. 34–1, pp. 31–35) has shown that in a great number of cases the cube root of precipitation-data can be considered as being normally distributed. This has been tested for different lengths of periods and for diverse types of climate. Although a cube-root normal distribution seems to fit most of the data, Stidd admits that in some cases some other root could lead to a better fit.

An inexpensive method for continuous monitoring of suspended sediment concentrations in rivers has recently been developed at the University of Natal. The instrument uses newly available solid state electronic circuitry and has been thoroughly laboratory-tested. The circuitry and the operation of the instrument are described in general terms.
