Abstract7‐(2′.3′‐Dihydroxypropyl)‐theophylline‐3′‐phosphate was synthesized using phosphorus oxychloride in trimethyl phosphate. This compound was condensed using N.N′‐dicyclohexylcarbodiimide as a dehydrating agent in refluxing dimethylformamide to oligomeric products which were separated into four peaks by chromatography using Sephadex G‐25. The major portion of the oligomeric product was found to have a molecular weight of more than 1000 according to gel‐filtration measurement. An oligomeric product was also obtained from the polycondensation of 7‐(2′.3′‐dihydroxypropyl)‐theophylline

AbstractPolyvinyl alcohols (P̄nca. 500) having a nucleotide or one of its analogs, such as adenosine‐5′‐phosphate,N‐[(2′‐dihydrogenphosphato)ethyl]‐uracil and ‐cytosine, as pendant group were synthesized by condensation using DCC as dehydrating agent in refluxing DMF. The resulting polyvinyl alcohols showed a hypochromic effect up to 4% when mixed with denaturated RNA or DNA in aqueous solution. AbstractAus Hydrochinon, Resorcin, Dihydroxydiphenylen und Dihydroxynaphthalinen wurden mit Methacrylsäurechlorid Bis(methacrylsäureester) hergestellt. Setzte man diese in siedendem Benzol mit großer Verdünnung gelösten Ester dem Angriff von Radikalen aus α.α′‐Azoisobuttersäuredinitril (Primärradikale) aus, dessen Überschuß in Beziehung zum Ester mindestens zwanzigfach molar war, so erhielt man mittels säulenchromatographischer Trennung Verbindungen, bei denen je olefinische Doppelbindung zwei Primärradikale addiert waren (unterdrückte Polymerisation). AbstractDie vorliegende Untersuchung befaßt sich mit der Bildung, der Struktur und der Fraktionierung von Poly(1.4‐phenylen‐1.1‐diaryläthylenen). Die Darstellung erfolgt aus Diphenyl‐p‐alkylphenyl‐methylhalogeniden und Pyridin durch radikalische Polymerisation der intermediär gebildeten α.α‐Diaryl‐1.4‐chinodimethane. Die Struktur der Polymerisate wird durch NMR‐spektroskopische Untersuchungen und mit Hilfe von Modellverbindungen aufgeklärt. AbstractDurch Reduktion von Diphenyl‐(4‐carboxy‐phenyl)‐methanol mit LiAlH4gelangt man zum Diphenyl‐(4‐hydroxymethyl‐phenyl)‐methanol, das mit Thionylchlorid in Diphenyl‐(4‐chlormethyl‐phenyl)‐methylchlorid übergeführt wird. AbstractEs wird über die Reaktionen berichtet, die zwischen den Radikalen α,α‐Diphenyl‐β‐pikrylhydrazyl (DPPH), α,α‐Diphenyl‐β‐[2,4,6‐tris(methoxycarbonyl)‐phenyl]‐hydrazyl (DPTH), α,α‐Diphenyl‐β‐(2,4,6‐tricyanophenyl)‐hydrazyl (DPTCH) und α,α‐Diphenyl‐β‐pentaphenylcyclopentadienyl‐hydrazyl (DPCPDH) einerseits und Radikalen aus Azoisobutyronitril andererseits in Gegenwart und Abwesenheit von Luftsauerstoff stattfinden. Abstractα,α‐Diphenyl‐β‐[2,4,6‐tris(methoxycarbonyl)‐phenyl]‐hydrazyl (DPTH), α,α‐Diphenyl‐β‐(2,4,6‐tricyanophenyl)‐hydrazyl (DPTCH) und α,α‐Diphenyl‐β‐pentaphenylcyclopentadienyl‐hydrazyl (DPCPDH) sind Inhibitoren der radikalischen Polymerisation von Styrol. Im Gegensatz zu nitrogruppenhaltigen Hydrazylen wie α,α‐Diphenylpikrylhydrazyl bewirken sie eine echte Induktionsperiode, in der die Hydrazyle verbraucht werden; die anschließende Polymerisation wird nicht durch Folgeprodukte des Inhibitors beeinflußt.Die mit DPTH erhaltene Induktionszeit ist proportional der verwendeten Inhibitor‐konzentration und wird durch Luftsauerstoff nicht verändert. DPTCH reagiert dagegen in Gegenwart von Sauerstoff sehr rasch mit Styrol, so daß hier mit und ohne Luft unterschiedliche Induktionszeiten erhalten werden. DPTH eignet sich auch zur Bestimmung der Ausbeute an startwirksamen Radikal

AbstractTitanium polythioethers of the form below were prepared from Cp2TiCl2and dithiols by the solution method.The following reaction variables were studied and reported on: molar ratios of the base, Cp2TiCl2and dithiols and concentration of the reactants, stirring time and volume of the aqueous phases.Polymer yield seeks a maximum around a molar ratio of Cp2TiCl2:dithiol:base of 1:1:2.

Abstract7‐Oxo‐4‐phenyl‐1,4‐azaphosphepane (II) (phospha‐caprolactam) and its 3,5‐tetramethyl derivative (IV) containing an amide group and a phosphorus atom in the same ring, have been synthesized and polymerized in the presence of various catalysts. II polymerized with Al(C2H5)2Cl or SnCl4as catalysts to give polyamide of low molecular weight, whereas IV did not polymerize with satisfactory results.
