摘要:
A spatial stability study of the nonparallel developing flow in a channel shows that in the near inlet region, the critical Reynolds number based on the growth rate of stream function at the channel center line is only 80% of that for the parallel flow theory, but the difference diminishes downstream.

A simple extension of recent work by Larcheveque and Lesieur leads to a one parameter analytic expression for the decay of scalar variance in an isotropic homogeneous turbulent flow. The essential qualitative features of the Warhaft–Lumley experiment are reproduced.

An idealized model predicts the peak pressure and its duration at the vertex of a reentrant corner. The model only requires repeated use of the shock relations. Both regular and Mach reflections can be handled. Comparisons with experimental shock tube data are given.

The second‐order nonlinear conductivity tensor for a relativistic turbulent plasma is shown to have an exact symmetry which, neglecting resonant wave‐particle interaction, becomes the widely known symmetry related to the nondissipative nature of the nonlinear current.
