摘要:
In the levitated spherator, a plasma confinement time of150 ∼ 200msec was obtained at a plasma density of 2 × 1011cm−3and an electron temperature of 1 eV. This confinement time is 1/3−1/6 of the classical decay time. It was observed that the confinement time increased with an increase in the electron temperature in the range of 0.1 to 5.0 eV. At higher electron temperature the plasma decay time was reduced with an increase in the electron temperature.

There is a close relation between the Knudsen number dependence of the drag coefficient for a macroscopic body in a gas stream, and the density dependence of the transport coefficients for moderately dense gases in both two and three dimensions.

摘要:
The dispersion relation for backward‐stimulated Brillouin scattering shows that near threshold the most unstable reflected wave rapidly outruns a laser driven underdense plasma. Laser energy absorption may, however, be affected at power flux densities above 1015Ws/cm2for1.06 &mgr;radiation.
