摘要:
A study of the choanoflagellate species composition of an Antarctic ice edge zone (northern Weddeil Sea, March 1986) has resulted in the finding of 16 taxa of which one,Cosmoeca takahashiiThomsen sp.n., is described here. An emended description is given ofParvicorbicula circularis.Morphological, numerical and dimensional aspects of other species have been analysed in an attempt to improve the circumscription of certain taxa, and to increase our understanding of the nature of intraspecific variability. Data on the relative abundance of choanoflagellate species along seaward transects perpendicular to the ice edge showed that seven species account for more than 95% of all choanoflagellates identified. The two most abundant species wereParvicorbicula socialisandDiaphanoeca pedicellata.

摘要:
A new genus and species of loricate choanoflagellate,Kakoeca aniarcticaBuck&Marchant gen. et sp.n. grown in rough culture from an Antarctic sea ice innoculum is described. This organism has a distinctive lorica morphology consisting of more than 200 costal strips arranged in transverse and longitudinal costae that arc perpendicular to one another in the posterior portion of the lorica. The transverse costae show declination with respect to the lorica axis in the anterior part of the lorica. The cell is suspended in the lorica by a robust protoplast suspensory membrane. This membrane blocks water flow from the posterior of the lorica necessitating water entry through the side of the lorica, an area where the maximum sized apertures in the lorica are found. Terminology (lorica lining and protoplast suspensory) is suggested for the two types of lorica membranes which have been found associated with loricas.

摘要:
Anoplodium heronensissp.n. fromStichopusspp. from the Great Barrier Reef of Australia andA. leighisp.n. fromStichopus mollisfrom New Zealand are described. Both have the ovary on the right side; they are compared withA, ramosum. A. longiductumandA. evelinae, all from the southern hemisphere, the only other member of the family with the ovary to the right.Anoplodiumspp. occur in the coelom of their hosts, unlike other members of the family which live in the gut. Eleven species are now recognized in this genus.

摘要:
The distribution of cxocrine tergal and inter–tergal glands among males of more than sixty genera of Braconinac has been surveyed. The morphology of the glands and their reservoirs is described. Two gland types were found. Large, sac–like inter–tergal glands, usually most prominent between the 7th and 8th abdominal tergites, were found in all members of the Braconini, Adeshini, Aphrastobraconini, Glyptomorphini and theAtanycolusandMerinotusgroups of genera. Inter–tergal glands were generally considerably smaller in members of the Bathyaulacini, Coeloidini. Euurobraconini and Iphiaulacini. Small pore–plate, vase–like or tubular tergal glands opening on the medio–lateral or antero–lateral selerotized parts of the 8th metasomal tergite were found in many genera, but were largely absent from members of the Braconini, Euurobraconini and Iphiaulacini ss. The phylogenetic implications of these finding

摘要:
Aequidens pallidus(Heckel) reachesc.140 mm standard length and occurs in the drainages of the blackwater rivers Negro, Puraquequara, Preto da Eva and Uatumã in Brasil.Aequidens duopunctataHaseman is a junior synonym.Aequidens tubicensp.n., was collected in the Trombelas and Mapuera rivers a little upstream of Cachoeira Porteira. The largest specimen is 116 mm standard length. It differs from all otherAequidensspecies in the possession of a dark spot at the inner angle of the preopercle and adjacent cheek.Aequidens pallidusandA. tubicenform a group diagnosed by a high number of vertebrae (14 + 13 = 27) and three colour pattern synapomorphies: lateral band positioned more dorsally and the midlateral spot positioned more posteriorly than in otherAequidensspecies, and caudal spot preceded by a large light spot at the dorsal margin of the caudal peduncle
