摘要:
Four species of theParamecium aureliacomplex were found in the Carpathian chain:P. primaurelia, P. biaurelia, P. tetraureliaandP. novaurelia. However, variation in the frequency of settlement of these species in the region was observed;P. biaureliaandP. novaureliaappeared with the greatest frequency,P. Primaureliaoccurred less frequently. whileP. tetraureliawas rather rare being found only in the Tatras.

摘要:
The choanoflagellate genusCosmoecagen.n. is characterized by a very regular arrangement of rod‐shaped costal strips, forming 9–12 longitudinal costae (each composed of 34 costal strips) and 2–3 transverse costae. Anteriorly the longitudinal costae attach the transverse costae at the joints between neighbouring transverse costal strips. Five species ofCosmoecaare described:norvegicasp.n. (type species; previously referred to as sp. “N”),C. ventricosa sp.n., (C. phuketensissp.n.,C. subulatasp.n. and C. ceratophora sp.n.Cosmoece ventricosasp.n. is obviously part of from complex, the extent of which has not yet been fully explained. In this paper, three groups of specimens clearly related toC. ventricosasp.n. are illustrated and briefly described (C. ventricosaforms A. B, C). Form A appears to be identical toPleurasiga orculaeformisSchiller, 1925,sensuL

摘要:
This paper redescribesLineus atrocaeruleus(Schmarda, 1859), a species common on the coast of Chile. It contains new information about anatomy and geographical distribution. The material obtained in the present study proves to be conspecific withL. atrocaeruleus sensuBürger (1896) and Friedrich (1970)

摘要:
The general morphology ofMacrotrachela quadricorniferaMilne, 1886 in the active and cryptobiotic states is analyzed under the scanning electron microscope. Some foot peculiarities not previously observed are reported, in particular the canaliculated spurs and presence of a sort of groove on the toes. The integument of active animals is perforated with pores and is micro‐sculptured in the trunk region. During cryptobiosis, the animal is contracted, its toot and head being retracted into the trunk: the same microsculpture of the trunk integument is observe

摘要:
A comparative ultrastructural analysis of sperm tails of the hirudineanHirudo medicinalisthe branchiobdellidBranchiobdella pentodonta, and various microdrile oligochaetes (Pananais frici, Paranais lioralis, Monopylephorus rubroniveus, Enchytraeussp. andBythonomus lemanihas revealed a common modification of the primitive axonemal structure. A prominent central sheath embeds the two central tubules of the flagellum for a tract of variable length in the different species. The structure of radial links and link heads appears also modified: link heads, which are three for each radial link, are disposed in rows. Adjacent link heads arc also transversely connected to each other. The absence of these peculiar modifications in megadriles is interpreted as a secondary phenomenon. Since no homologous modification of the sperm tails is present in other spermatozoa, the prominent central sheath and radial links here described in three of the four taxa belonging to the Clitellata is considered a new autapomorphy for the whole group.

摘要:
The spermatozoon ofBranchiostoma moretonensisclosely resembles that ofB. lanceolatumand, though near the primitive sperm, allows recognition of a cephalochordate sperm type. This has: a bell‐shaped acrosome; diffuse subacrosomal material not structured as an acrosome rod; sub‐ovoidal nucleus with shallow anterior concavity, deep tubular posterior fossa (endonuclear canal) and condensed but lacunate chromatin; single asymmetrical, postnuclear mitochondrion almost completely or completely encircling the centrioles; mutually perpendicular proximal and distal centrioles of the triplet type, with the distal forming the basal body of the flagellum and the proximal (always?), as inB. moretonensis, with a spur‐like extension (striated rootlet) into the nuclear fossa; flagellum tilted relative to the longitudinal axis (and endonuclear canal) of the nucleus; a 9 + 2 axoneme with hollow tubules and both dynein arms present on the doublets; and scattered glycogen granules, numerous around the distal centriole. The mitochondrion ofB. moretonensisis C‐shaped in transverse section, as in urochordates, but cephalochordate sperm resemble those of echinoderms, and specifically holothuroids, more closely. The occurrence of flagellar rootlets and composite mitochondria in various animal groups is discussed. The termparamorphyis proposed for parallel and convergent acquisition of an identical character:symparamorphywhere acquisition is by parallelism andalloparamorphywhere it is by convergence; the two terms represent, however, extremes of a continuum. Superficially similar but structurally different characters acquired by convergence are termedanalogo

摘要:
Laterally on each side of the dorsal surface of the otic region of the endocranium of some teleostome fishes are two distinct depressions. Nearly sixty years ago Stensiö regarded these depressions in the sturgeonAcipenser ruthenusas one unit and called it ‘fossa bridgei’. Since then this term has been employed by comparative ichthyologists in various meanings, which has hindered communication and interpretation. A disposal presented here eliminates this contusion and sheds light on the homologies of some of the fossae on the dorsal of the teleostome endocra
