摘要:
In the interests of nomenclatural stability it is proposed thatJohnstoniaQuatrefages. 1866 (Polychaeta, Maldanidae) be conserved relative to its senior homonymJohnstoniaQuatrefages, 1849 (Polychaeta, Nereidae) and its coexistent junior homonymJohnstoniaBasir, 1956 (Nematoda, Thelastomatidae). Type material of all species previously assigned toJohnstoniaQuatrefages, 1866 is re‐examined and a new species from Trinidad described. All three valid species (J. clymenoidesQuatrefages, 1866;J. knysnaDay. 1955; J.duplicatasp. n.) are described and figured in detail. An unnamed fourth species is known only from fragments collected off West Africa, andJohnstonia gracilisKinberg, 1867 is newly synonymised withEuclymene oerstedii(Claparède. 186

摘要:
New species in the genusFabriciolaFriedrich are described.Fabriciolais defined by a single synapomorphy, the presence of non‐vascularized, ventral filamentous appendages. Otherwise the genus is variable, with differences among species in chaetae, eyes, and peristomial organization. The new species,Fabriciola flammula, F. liguronisandF. parvus, reflect this heterogeneity.Fabriciola liguronishas spermathecae in the radiolar crown of females, the first record of these structures inFabriciola, but F.flammulaandF. parvuslack spermathecae. Sperm ultrastructure in all three species share apomorphies with other fabriciins, but vary in other respects.Fabriciolamay be paraphyletic, but material of the type speciesF. spongicola(Southern, 1921) has been unobtainable so far, and detailed study of this species is required to define the genusFabriciolaadequatel

摘要:
Three distinct groups of basal heterobranch gastropods (=‘Allogastropoda/Heterostropha’) can be distinguished on the basis o f sperm and spermiogenic features: (1) Valvatoidea; (2) Architectonicoidea; (3) Rissoelloidea + Omalogyroidea + Pyramidelloidea. Sperm of pentaganglionate heterobranchs (Opisthobranchiasensu stricto+ Pulmonata) conform in all respects to the pattern shown by group (3). Heterobranchia are united, and differentiated from other gastropods, by a shared suite of sperm and spermiogenic features (rounded acrosomal vesicle, nucleus usually helical, highly modified mitochondrial derivative, spermatid acrosome associated with a dense nuclear plaque, formation of the mitochondrial derivative through fusion of numerous small mitochondria along the length of the axoneme). Sperm autapomorphies of the Architectonicoidea and the Valvatoidea suggest that these two superfamilies arc distinct but terminal offshoots from ancestral heterobran

摘要:
The external structure of the end part of the female abdomen in Oligotrophini was studied. Various patterns were found, some of them representing adaptations of limited value for phylogenetic considerations, but the analysis also demonstrated synapomorphies for certain genera. For example, all known species ofGephyraulusare equipped with a pair of horn‐like sensilla situated dorsally near the tip of the superior lamella. This development apparently does not occur in other Oligotrophini. Six general models regarding the cuticular sculpture of the superior lamella were distinguished inDasineuraandMacrolabis.Evolution of some of the models may have occurred several times. Lectotypes ofJaapiellacatariae Rübsaamen andWachtliella dalmaticuRübsaamen are designated.Wachtliella rosarum(Hardy) is transferred toDasineura.Four new species are described:Dasineura mariaesp. n.,D. bertisp. n.,D. helenaesp. n., andD. erodiicolasp

摘要:
Most caddisflies (Insecta, Trichoptera) are classified into two suborders, Annulipalpia and Integripalpia. However, the use of the derived characters that are regularly applied in systematic and phylogenetic analyses of Trichoptera is insufficient to determine with certainty the position of the families belonging to Rhyacophiloidea, which are considered by different authors to be either Annulipalpia, or Integripalpia, or even a separate suborder. Rhyacophiloidea comprise four overall similar families: free‐living Rhyacophilidae and Hydrobiosidae, saddle‐case making Glossosomatidae, and purse‐case making Hydroptilidae. It was previously found that Annulipalpia spermatozoa have aberrant axonemes while Integripalpia spermatozoa display the plesiomorph 9 + 2 axoneme. The present spermatological analysis of the families Rhyacophilidae and Glossosomatidae shows that both have spermatozoa with aberrant axonemes lacking the two central microtubules found in the typical axoneme of insect spermatozoa. This is an apomorphic character shared with the superfamily Hydropsychoidea, indicating that from this point of view, Rhyacophiloidae are more closely related to Annulipalpia than to Integrip

摘要:
Comparison of the spermatozoa ofBufo marinus, six Australian species of the family Hylidae, and the myobatrachineAdelotus brevis, with those of 41 other species of frogs, in a total of 12 investigated families allows the following phylogenetic inferences: the bufonoids (myobatrachids, leptodactylids, hylids, and bufonids) form a monophyletic assemblage with a single synapomorphy: the presence of a conical subacrosomal perforatorium. This structure is analogous to, rather than homologous with, the perforatorium in archaeobatrachians, which differs notably in being an endonuclear structure. The hylid‐leptodactylid‐bufonid assemblage is the sister‐group of the Myobatrachidae (Australian ‘leptodactylids’). Myobatrachids are distinguished by two. albeit weak, synapomorphies, the presence of well‐defined pericentriolar material, and the extension of the axial rod up the centriolar fossa, the latter condition approached in the bufonidNectophrynoides. The bufonid, leptodactylid (sensu strictu), and hylid families are united, and separated from myobatrachids, by a single synapomorphy: a thick collar‐like cytoplasmic sheath that emanates from the centriolar region, is separated from the flagellum by a cytoplasmic canal, and contains the mitochondria.Litoria fallax, L. gracilenta, andL. lesueuriare associated by a unique synapomorphy, hypermorphosis of the minor fibre (juxta‐axonemal fibre), though this is approached inBufo bufo. However, there is no spermatological evidence supporting the recognition of Australian hylids (pelodryadids) as a group distinct from the remaining eubufonoids and, specifically, from the Hylidae. Evidence is presented in support of the tentative proposal that the Lissamphibia were primitively interna
