摘要:
Cernosvitoviella ampullaxsp.n. is characterized by the long ampulla of the spermatheca (usually 5–7 times longer than the ectal duct), the funnel‐shaped sperm funnel and the dorsal vessel which originates in segment XI. The species was found in peat soil on Hardangervidda (1 320 m a. s.l.) in an area where the soil remains frozen for about half the y

摘要:
Tiron bellairsisp. n. is described and illustrated. The species, of less than 3 mm in length, was quite common on shallow‐water coral sand with a fine layer of detritus. It has a hitherto undescribed behaviour in that the animals move around on top of the sand carrying, with pereopods 3–7, two flat slabs of coral or shell debris for protection. The species belongs to a group ofTironhaving stubby, pincerlike dactyls on pereopods 3–7, and is compared with other stubby‐legged species of the genus.MetatironRabindranath, 1972 is here included inTironLilljebor

摘要:
The carapace grooves of decapod Crustacea are hitherto considered as remnants of somit boundaries. This hypothesis is rejected for theoretical reasons and on the basis of morphological studies of recent crayfishes and lobsters. The grooves are recognized as mechanically induced secondary structures resulting from the attachment of different muscles to the carapace. The grooves can be used for the diagnosis of certain systematic groups, but are of little value for phylogenetic considerations.

摘要:
Members of all previously known forms of thePleurasiga sphyrelutuThomsen, 1973 complex, with some additions, have been studied as dry whole mounts of wild material collected in six different climatic regions extending from the arctic to the equator and further south. Light microscopy has been used throughout to standardise sizes and to record gross shapes. Transmission electron microscopy has added details of the protoplast, lorica structure and development, while scanning electron microscopy of selected cells has indicated clearly the nature of the outermost lorica components. New findings include a demonstration that the three transverse costae characteristic of all members of the group are within the circle of longitudinal costae and not outside them. The posterior transverse costa is further shown to be intimately involved with attachment of the lorica to the protoplast and it is also that for which costal strips are formed first in a new replication cycle. Recommendations on terminology, nomenclature, and a revised taxonomic scheme are summarized. Formal descriptions are provided forPolyfibulagen.n. with five component taxa treated as of equal weight for the time being. Three draw on existing names (P. sphyrelata, P. caudataandP. elatensis) while two are new (P. stipitatasp.n. andP. hexacostatasp.n.).

摘要:
A morphological and histological description of the reproductive system ofO. polypunctataandO. nigropunctatais given and probable ancestral and derived features evaluated. AsOopeltapossesses a composite male copulatory complex, the conditions that could lead to the evolution of such a complex were pointed out. These guidelines were used to establish some of the morphological differences that exist between the reproductive system of the Oopeltinae and that of the other subfamilies of the Arionidae. As a result of the differences encountered in the reproductive system, as well as the differences in the buccal retractor muscles, the central nervous system and the jaw, inter alia, and the “disjunct” distribution of the Oopeltinae, the inclusion of this subfamily in the Arionidae seems questionable. Due to lack of information a new sister group could not be pointed
