摘要:
The previously unknown life cycles ofOcioiiara russelliandStomoroca alruare described. Both species present differentiated hydroids and medusae. From the morphology of the newly liberated medusae both species are referred to the Pandeidae and, from the presence of a manubrial peduncle, to the subfamily Stomotocinae. together withTimoides. Some aspects of feeding and gonad growth are described and discussed.

摘要:
Petaliellu spiracaudaEhlers, 1974, has a complex funncl‐shaped penis stylet, differentiating intracellularly in a synchronous mode. First, a stylet‐forming cell is built which in shape is adapted to the future stylet; this cell is lined by interstitial cells and secretory cells proximally and enveloped by cover cells at the outside. The differentiation of the hard structurc starts at the same time in all parts. Electron dcnsc material is added to the inner surface of thc cell membrane of the styletforming cell, in which the number and size of layers differ in places. During the phase of formation, small tubules are arranged parallel on the inner surface of the hard structure. In the stylet base, however, many separate hard elements, joined by electron dense material, are formed at the membrane of the stylet‐forming cell, as well as freely in the cytoplasm. All parts of the stylet are completed at the same time due to a varying growth in wall thickness. The base of the hard structure is embedded in a finely fibrous intracellular m

摘要:
From the N. American Pacific coast the following new kalyptorhynchian taxa are described:Cicerinabicirrata, Cicerina triangularis, Placorhynchus pacificus, Uncinorhynchus pacificus, Proschizorhynchella lingulata, Proschizorhynchella inflata, Proschizorhynchella schilkei, Schizochilus hoxholdi, Paraschizorhynchoides glandulisSchilke subsp.hopkinsi, Cheliplana californicaandCheliplana elkhornica. The taxonomy of the species is discusscd and supplementary remarks arc made on some species from other areas.

摘要:
Contracaecumspp. are common parasites of seals and piscivorous birds. The world‐wide distribution which has been attributed to the speciesC. osculatumneeds verification. In the present study thc intra‐specific variability of some taxonomically significant characters was studied in this species. Features analysed include the length and morphology of the distal end of the spicules, the number of proximal caudal papillae and the number of papillae in the region of the first 25 cuticular transverse striae anterior to the cloaca, delined as the Pts zone (precloacal transverse striae zone). The spicules reach their maximum length only in fully grown worms. while the morphology of the distal end of the spicule is determined early in the life of adult male worms. Included is a detailed analysis of the observed morphometric variability in the distal end of the spicule. The number of cuticular transverse striae in relation to papillae in the Pts zone remains constant in different length classes of the parasite. A redescription of the parasite is provided, bascd on material obtained from grey seals in the Baltic Sea, to serve as a basis for discussions on the taxonomy of the ge

摘要:
A new genus of anascan lunulitiform bryozoan,Pseudolunularia. is introduced for two new species,P. enigmaandP. unguis. It is inferred that live colonies both possess basal rhizoids and are supported and stabilized by elongate avicularian mandibles. The autozooids, brooding zooids and avicularia of both species bear a striking resemblance to a parallel pair of species belonging to the genusLunularia, L. repandusandL. cupulus.

摘要:
Seven new species of limpets from hydrothermal vents are described in five new genera in the new family Peltospiridae (new superfamily Peltospiracea). Limpets in this family are known only from the hydrothermal vent community at two sites, near 21°N and 13°N, on the East Pacific Rise. New genera and species are:Peltospira, type speciesP. operculutafrom both sites, andP. delicatafrom 13°N;Nodopelta, type speciesN. heminodafrom both sites, andN. subnodafrom 13°N;Rhynchopelta, type speciesR. concentricafrom both sites;Echinopelta, type species E.fistulosafrom 21°N;Hirtopelta, type specicsH. hirtafrom 13°N. These limpets are associated with the Pompei wormAlvinella, except for Rhynchopelta, which is associated with the vestimentifcran wormR

摘要:
The following new prosobranch species are described:Cyuthermia(gen.n.)naticoides, Lucunoidc(gen.n.)exquisitus(Neomphalidae);Peltospira Iamellifera, Pachydermia(gen.n.)laevis, Depressigyra(gen. n.)g1obulus. D. plunispira, Solutigyra(gen. n.)reticulata, Lirapex(gen. n.)humata, L. granularis(Peltospiridae);Bathymargarites(gen.n.)symplector(Trochidae) andProvanna mucleani(Littorinoidea). Shells and soft parts of the species are described and figured. One species each ofSinezona(Scissurellidae),Moel1rriopsis(Seguenzoidea) andPhymorrhynchus(Turridae) is recorded from East Pacific hydrothermal vents, but not identified to species. Information about feeding biology and type of larval development is given for most of these species. The systematic position of the new species of Neomphalidae and Peltospiridae is considered uncertain, but further anatomical investigations are in progress. The gastropod fauna of East Pacific sulphide‐rich environments is summarized and composition, endemism, age. dispersal, predation, adaptations and feeding biology are discusse

摘要:
A key for the three closely rclatcd generaAruphura, ArhapuroidesandTanaellais provided and the taxonomic differences are discusscd. ForAraphuraandArhapuroidesa key to the specics is also given, while forTanuelluone is available elsewhere. WithinArhuphuroides, the taxonomic position ofA. hrevispinais discussed andA. septentrionalissp.n. is described. WithinAraphura, the analysis of the postmarsupial stages inA. higginsisp.n. indicates a saltatorial growth of the pereaeonites from neuters to females. Therefore, the shape of the pars molaris and the structures of uropods are the main taxonomically useful characters. The second species described as new in the genus,A. joubinensissp.n. has formerly been recorded asA. brevimanusfrom Antarctic waters. Finally, based on material from Great Britain, a redescription of the type species,A. brevimanus, is presented.
