AbstractA number of complexing polymers containing carboxylic, phosphorylic, amine, imine and pyridine functional groups have been prepared and their complexes with copper, cobalt and nickel have been obtained. AbstractThis paper presents a discussion of four areas in which the interaction between organic polymers and metal species is of importance. The first section discusses the effect of metal ions in random ionomers in bulk, where the presence of ions strongly influence the mechanical properties. The next topic covers the influence of metal ions on aqueous solutions of block copolymers, and describes the morphogenic effects seen in such systems. The third section deals with the use of metal ions in non‐aqueous solutions of block copolymers leading to the formation of microreactors with a high degree of size control. AbstractCoordination of π‐conjugated polymers to transition metals constructs a novel redox system due to interchangeable various oxidation states of the polymers, which permits transition metals to interact with each other through a π‐conjugate chain. The redox characteristics were found to depend on the electronic interaction with metals and the doping. A combination of copper(II) or iron(III) chloride and polyanilines afforded the complex catalysts with the higher oxidation capability for dehydrogenative oxidation. A catalytic system was also realized in the transition‐metal‐induced oxidation reaction, in which π‐conjugated polymers serve as redox‐active ligands participating in the reversible redox cycle. 摘要:
AbstractSeveral kinds of polymers having tetraphenylporphyrin (TPP) or some metallotetraphenylporphyrin (AgTPP, CuTPP, VOTPP or ZnTPP) moieties as their side chains have been prepared by the radical polymerization of the corresponding vinyl monomers. Visible spectra of these polymers show the clear hypochromism in the Soret bands of the tetraphenylporphyrin moieties as compared with those of the corresponding monomers. Polymer effects were clearly observed in the magnetic behaviors and the oxygen adsorption of paramagnetic metalloporphyrin moieties. In addition, polymer effects on photophysical and photochemical behaviors of ZnTPP were found in the amphiphilic polymers covalently tethered with small amounts of ZnTPP and hydrophobic substituents above a critical content, which form hydrophobic domains due to aggregation of the hydrophobic groups in aqueous solution.

AbstractIt was found that photoelectrochemical water oxidation takes place at a polynuclear iron‐cyanide complex‐coated electrode called Berlin Brown (BB; Fe4III[FeIII(CN)6]333X). AbstractNew water‐soluble macromolecular palladium complexes with phase transfer ability were used for two‐phase Wacker oxidation of higher alkenes. Macromolecular metal complexes have been prepared employing as ligands monobutyl ether of polyethylene oxide and copolymers of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide functionalized by β,β'‐iminodipropionitrile and acetodinitrile. Macromolecular metal complexes exhibited high activity and selectivity as catalysts for Wacker oxidation of different alkenes: octene‐1, dodecene‐1, hexadecene‐1, styrene, propenylbenzene, cyclooctadiene‐1,5.
