摘要:
We have come full circle. We have talked of evaluations and the need for them. We now find ourselves at a time when our society is demanding them. If we have not been evaluating all along, it is almost too late to begin now.

摘要:
So far as communication is concerned, what appears to occur within hospitals is that messages are transmitted as on a one-way street. How can it be assumed that messages expressed even in “general” terms are understood by all employees? Hospitals have the staggering task of developing mutual trust and confidence which will lead to understanding.

摘要:
Good writing cannot be forced; it must be encouraged. Management can provide encouragement by showing interest in the efforts of subordinates, by conveying the importance of good writing, and by recognizing accomplishment. When a writer is asked how his boss reacted to a report, the answer very often is, “I haven't heard but I suppose no news is good news.‘’ Management has become so accustomed to hearing only exceptions that it often extends this principle to human relations. Man is not so physically constituted that an occasional slap on the backinevitablyproduces a swelling about the head.
