Spectral hole burning was performed in neutron‐irradiate a. Additional lines were found in the spectra of photo‐product, which were caused by Cr ions. Hole burning mechanisms are discussed in such defective crystals.

摘要:
The concept and the synthesis of the basic molecules for a chiroptical molecular switch are described. This molecular switch is based on photochemical interconversion of two bistable forms of chiral sterically overcrowded olefins. A large variety of these alkenes with different properties have been prepared by the use of a coupling reaction between a thioketone and a diazo compound.

摘要:
Time- and space‐resolved luminescence studies of anthracene crystals have revealed efficient radiative energy transfer by polaritons over macroscopic distances at very low velocities (V<10−3c). Diffusive and ballistic propagation regimes of (quasi)waveguide polarions modes can be differentiated. Spatial distribution of luminescence intensity reflects the crystal (and defect) symmetry. Anthracene microcrystals may be useful as media for optical signal transfer in molecular structures.

摘要:
The results of photoelectric measurements in salts of planar complexes of mono- and dianionic metal dithiolenes with a variety of cations, such as 2, 2′ ‐ and 4,4′-bipyridinium derivatives, are described. It is shown that by specific combinations of ligands, metals, anionic charges and cations photoconductivity gain and spectral response to specific wavelength regions can be tailored. On the basis of ion pair charge-transfer (IPCT) mechanism a model is given according to which photoconductivity of metal dithiolene complexes may be attributed to the photoinduced “reverse” charge‐transfer between anionic and cationic sites resulting in conducting anionic stacks of mixed‐valence.

摘要:
We have performed optical hole‐burning experiments in the temperature range between 25mKand 500mKand found a linear temperature law which we ascribe to spectral diffusion. Also the time evolution of the holes was investigated. A broadening of the holes on a logarithmic time scale, which we attribute to longtime relaxation processes of two level systems (TLS) was measured. Implications on the theory of TLS are discussed.

摘要:
Temperature dependence of the absorption bandshape and various hole‐burning characteristics have been studied in myoglobin. The results indicate that myoglobin has many conformational substates. It has also been found that a deoxymyoglobin molecule can assume various iron-porphyrin distance at physiological temperatures, while the distribution of this distance becomes fixed around 250 K. The spectral shape of the sideband hole in Zn-substituted myoglobin is concluded to reflect the vibrational modes of the protein, and this shape is shown to be in fair agreement with the result of theoretical calculation based on the normal-mode analysis. The distribution of the barrier height between the conformational substates determined from a heat cycle experiment will also be discussed.
